According to the report of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, pests and diseases on cinnamon trees have appeared in some localities and are forecast to become more complicated in the coming time. To minimize the possibility of pests and diseases on cinnamon trees, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee directed:
People's Committees of districts, towns and cities direct specialized departments and offices of the district to coordinate with district-level Forest Protection Departments to conduct investigations and promptly grasp the situation of pests and diseases on cinnamon trees and forestry trees according to the instructions in TCVN8927:2023 on prevention and control of pests and diseases on forest trees (general instructions).
Organize propaganda for people to regularly check cinnamon forests, promptly detect the development of pests and diseases to have early treatment measures to avoid outbreaks and widespread spread. Advise people to use biological products to prevent pests and diseases; do not use toxic drugs of unknown origin that affect organic cinnamon areas, the environment and public health.
In the immediate future, organize research, propaganda, and dissemination of measures to prevent and control pests and diseases of cinnamon trees according to Decision No. 807/QD-BVTV-KH of the Plant Protection Department on technical advances and integrated management processes for major pests and diseases of cinnamon trees in nurseries and planted forests. After the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has completed the document guiding the prevention and control of pests and diseases of cinnamon trees, organize training and propaganda on district radio and television stations, and commune and village loudspeakers.
Mobilize resources from chain owners, businesses and other legal capital sources to propagate, train and support people in preventing pests and diseases on cinnamon trees.
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (Provincial Forest Protection Department) presides over and coordinates with the Forest Protection Center - Forestry Science Institute to develop documents, video clips, and audio files to guide technical instructions on pest control on cinnamon trees. Proactively grasp the situation of pests and diseases to promptly advise on prevention solutions and declare epidemics according to regulations.
The Department of Finance appraises the budget for developing documents (handbooks, video clips, audio files, etc.) to guide measures to prevent and control pests and diseases on cinnamon trees according to the proposal of the Forest Protection Department - Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The Provincial Radio and Television Station coordinates with the Provincial Forest Protection Department to produce a video clip instructing on pest and disease prevention on cinnamon trees and broadcast it 3-4 times in a row to propagate and disseminate to the people or when requested by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
