Deploying an organic rice production model using seedling trays and transplanters and linking product consumption

With the aim of building and replicating the organic rice production model associated with product consumption linkage, in the winter-spring crop of 2024 - 2025, Quang Tri Agricultural Extension Center coordinated with Quang Tri Trading Corporation Joint Stock Company to deploy an organic rice production model using seedling trays and transplanters, associated with product consumption linkage.

The model was implemented at Xuan Hoa Cooperative, Trung Hai Commune, Gio Linh District, on an area of ​​15 hectares, of which 13 hectares used ST25 rice variety and 2 hectares used RVT rice variety. Households participated voluntarily, were able to provide materials, and complied with technical procedures.

To organize the implementation, the Agricultural Extension Center supports 50% of seeds and materials, Quang Tri Trading Corporation supports by providing 50% of seeds and materials, and at the end of the season, the money will be collected by deducting the rice purchase.

The difference between the organic production model and mass production models is that the model uses tray seedlings, transplanters, Sepon organic fertilizers, and does not use inorganic fertilizers or chemical pesticides in rice production, helping to reduce pollution of the soil and water environment, and protect the health of producers. In the long term, using organic fertilizers increases soil fertility, increases minerals and effective microorganisms in the soil, and is very effective in improving fields.

Through the model, farmers can receive transferred techniques, improve their capacity and level of intensive farming, and move towards organic agricultural production in general and organic rice in particular to create rice products that ensure quality and safety for users.
