Prospects for developing Russian cancer vaccine in Vietnam

Within the framework of his official visit to Vietnam, Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko visited and worked at the Vietnam - Russia International Eye Hospital in Hanoi.

Here, the Russian Minister of Health said that this is the unit in Vietnam to which the Fyodorov Eye Microsurgery Complex has transferred advanced ophthalmic microsurgery techniques, successfully implementing specialized, high-tech techniques in cataract surgery; refractive error treatment; vitreo-retinal surgery and treatment; and pediatric eye rehabilitation treatment.

The Russian Minister of Health also informed about the future cooperation directions with leading Russian centers in the following specialties: obstetrics, pediatrics, maternal and child health care, surgery and pediatric oncology. Leading cancer research centers and institutes in Russia are applying modern drugs and therapies in the treatment of eye cancer; developing new drugs and therapeutic cancer vaccines.

Vietnam's Ministry of Health said that along with the plan to cooperate in developing new drugs, the Ministry has proposed that the Russian Minister of Health and relevant agencies increase the number of scholarships for Vietnamese medical and pharmaceutical students in the coming years, compared to the current 30 scholarships per year.
