Drug trafficking ring busted in Monaco bar

The Drug Crime Investigation Police Department - Dak Lak Provincial Police has successfully dismantled a drug trafficking ring into a bar, arresting many subjects for organizing, storing and illegally using drugs.

Previously, through professional work, the police force determined that Nguyen Van Lam (born 1989, residing in Ea Phe commune) regularly illegally bought and sold drugs to customers at bars in Buon Ma Thuot ward, operating mainly from 8:30 p.m. the previous day to about 2:00 a.m. the next morning.

After a period of surveillance, on the night of September 12, the police force caught Lam red-handed while delivering drugs to customers at Monaco Bar (No. 91, Ly Thai To Street, Buon Ma Thuot Ward). During an urgent search of the subject's residence in Thanh Nhat Ward, the police seized 37 packages of Ketamine and 74 MDMA pills.

At the same time, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department coordinated with the Mobile Police Department and Buon Ma Thuot Ward Police to inspect Bar Monaco. Here, the authorities caught red-handed 3 subjects including: Vu Tran Thien Khoa (born 2005), Ta Van Truong (born 2002, both residing in Dong Nai ) and Nguyen Van Son (born 1999, residing in Lam Dong) in the act of organizing illegal drug use. The seized exhibits included MDMA, Ketamine and many related evidences.

Nguyen Van Lam was arrested with drug evidence at his residence.

The results of the rapid test showed that all three subjects tested positive for drugs. In addition, after checking all customers and staff in the restaurant, the police discovered 7 more positive cases, including one employee of the restaurant.

Currently, the Provincial Police Investigation Agency has detained Nguyen Van Lam and three related subjects to continue to expand the investigation and handle them according to the provisions of the law.
