On September 29, the Earthquake Information and Tsunami Warning Center issued four consecutive earthquake alerts in Mang But and Mang Ri communes ( Quang Ngai province), including an earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale.

Accordingly, at 5:22 a.m. on September 29, a magnitude 3.0 earthquake occurred at the coordinates (14.905 degrees North latitude, 108.204 degrees East longitude), with a focal depth of about 8.1 km. The earthquake occurred in Mang But commune (Quang Ngai province).

At 8:41 a.m. the same day, another earthquake of magnitude 2.8 occurred at the coordinates (14.931 degrees North latitude, 108.137 degrees East longitude), with a focal depth of about 8.1 km. The earthquake occurred in Mang Ri commune (Quang Ngai province).

Next, at 9:54 a.m. the same day, another earthquake of magnitude 3.6 occurred at the coordinates (14.901 degrees North latitude, 108.187 degrees East longitude), with a focal depth of about 8.1 km. The earthquake occurred in Mang But commune.

At 10:37 a.m. the same day, another earthquake of magnitude 2.6 occurred at the coordinates (14.913 degrees North latitude, 108.190 degrees East longitude), with a focal depth of about 8.1 km. The earthquake occurred in Mang But commune.

Previously, on September 28, Quang Ngai also had 2 earthquakes. Thus, in just 2 days of September 28 and 29, in the western area of ​​Quang Ngai province, 6 earthquakes occurred, including one with a magnitude of 3.6 on the Richter scale.

The Earthquake Information and Tsunami Warning Center is continuing to monitor these four earthquakes.

From 2021 to present, hundreds of earthquakes have been recorded in Quang Ngai (former Kon Tum province, concentrated in the former Kon Plong district), in which the earthquakes caused widespread tremors.

The largest was the earthquake at noon on July 28, 2024 with a magnitude of 5, or before that on August 23, 2022 was a magnitude 4.7 earthquake.
