On April 17, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training announced the enrollment quota for grade 10. Accordingly, 115 non-specialized public schools and 8 autonomous public schools enroll more than 74,000 students.

This year, 4 specialized high schools and specialized classes enroll nearly 3,000 students, an increase of more than 300 students compared to last year.

Specifically, the enrollment targets at specialized high schools under the Hanoi Department of Education and Training are as follows:

Of which, Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted has the highest enrollment quota, 820 students including 770 specialized students and 50 dual degree students.

Chu Van An High School increased from 10 to 15 specialized classes. Nguyen Hue High School also increased 3 classes in the 2023-2024 school year. Only Son Tay High School remained stable as the previous school year.

Every year, about 10,000-13,000 students in Hanoi register for entrance exams to specialized classes. The admission score for specialized 10th grade is the sum of 3 subjects: Math, Literature, Foreign Language and the specialized exam multiplied by a factor of two, with a maximum of 50 points. This year, this method of calculating admission scores continues to be applied.
