Ms. Ha Thi Dieu, in Tan Thanh ward, Buon Ma Thuot city, said that her daughter got 15.5 points in the entrance exam to grade 10 while the standard score to enter Buon Ma Thuot High School is 15.75 points, so her daughter did not pass the entrance exam.

Then, she submitted her child's application to Phu Xuan Private High School and the school accepted the application.

On July 19, receiving a notice from the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training that the admission score for public schools had been lowered to 13 points, Ms. Dieu went to Phu Xuan Private High School to withdraw her child's application, but despite having requested to withdraw the application many times, the school still had not resolved the matter.

“Although I have gone to the school many times to withdraw my application, it has not been processed and returned to me for me to submit to Buon Ma Thuot High School. My family is very happy to know that my child has the opportunity to study at a public school. This will help my family to have less trouble because studying at a private school will be very expensive while my family's economic conditions are not very good,” Ms. Dieu shared.

According to Mr. Tran Van Hoa, in Thang Loi Ward, Buon Ma Thuot City, the delay in withdrawing the application will cause his child to lose the opportunity to enter public schools. He is afraid that if he submits the application, the schools will run out of quotas, and he does not know where his child will study.

In the same situation as Ms. Dieu and Mr. Hoa, hundreds of other parents stood in front of the office of the Phu Xuan High School leadership waiting to have their applications withdrawn.

Hundreds of parents came to Phu Xuan High School (Dak Lak) to withdraw their children's applications to public schools with lower admission scores.

Speaking with reporters, Ms. Pham Thi Kim Thoa, Vice Principal of Phu Xuan High School, confirmed that there were quite a few parents coming to the school to withdraw their children's applications to submit to public schools.

Ms. Thoa said that the whole school had about 600 applications, 60 of which were withdrawn last week, and only about 70 applications of students who qualified to enter public schools were withdrawn.

“The school is creating conditions for parents to withdraw their applications. However, parents need to check whether their children have been accepted to the schools. If so, please come to the school so I can summarize the withdrawal on the morning of July 24 because today the department in charge of the application has other urgent work and is away,” said Ms. Pham Thi Kim Thoa.

To resolve the situation, a leader of Phu Xuan High School invited the parents and announced that tomorrow afternoon (July 23) they would withdraw the application. However, most of the parents did not agree.

According to the leaders of Phu Xuan High School, the Department of Education and Training has announced the admission procedures until July 25. In addition, for those who have withdrawn their applications from Phu Xuan High School, the school will not accept them again. This afternoon (July 22), the school will also process the withdrawals.

Previously, on July 19, the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training announced a "lowering" of the additional admission score to grade 10 at Buon Ma Thuot High School and Le Quy Don High School by 13 points (the previous admission score to grade 10 at these two schools was 15.75 points).

Mr. Do Tuong Hiep, Deputy Director of the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training, said that these public schools notified students on the school's enrollment registration list who have enough points to pass the additional admission exam to urgently complete enrollment procedures by July 25 and report the results on July 26.

"High schools and general schools with many levels create conditions for students who have passed the supplementary admission to withdraw their applications to complete admission procedures according to their wishes, ensuring their legitimate rights," said Mr. Do Tuong Hiep.

According to Mr. Do Tuong Hiep, students with an exam score of 13 points and no failing score (1 point or less) will be admitted to additional schools. The Department has calculated enough quotas for them.
