Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted (HCMC) ranks first in the country in national excellent students.

With 109 awards in the national excellent student exam for high school students in the 2024-2025 school year, including students achieving valedictorian scores, Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted (HCMC) holds the No. 1 position in the country.

According to the ranking of high schools in the national excellent student exam from statistics of the Ministry of Education and Training, among 3,803 students from more than 100 high schools nationwide who won national excellent student awards at the high school level in the 2024-2025 school year, Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted (HCMC) ranked first with 109 awards.

Following in second place is Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted with 108 prize-winning students; Tran Phu High School for the Gifted (Hai Phong) ranked third with 101 prize-winning students.

The high schools in the top 10 of this year's excellent student exam in the following positions are Bac Giang Specialized High School (Bac Giang) with 99 students winning prizes; Nguyen Trai Specialized High School (Hai Duong) with 97 students winning prizes; Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School (Nghe An) with 96 students winning prizes; Thai Nguyen Specialized High School (Thai Nguyen) with 90 students winning prizes; Vinh Phuc Specialized High School (Vinh Phuc) with 87 students winning prizes; Le Hong Phong Specialized High School ( Nam Dinh ) and Quoc Hoc Hue Specialized High School ranked 9th because they both had 84 students winning prizes; Bac Ninh Specialized High School (Bac Ninh) ranked 10th with 81 students winning prizes.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Be Hien, Principal of Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted (HCMC), among the 109 students who won prizes at this school, Le Nguyen Thuy Duong, class 11, literature major 1, was the valedictorian of literature, and Le Quy Huan, class 12, biology major, won the only first prize in biology in the southern region.

Also according to statistics from the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, in the 2024-2025 school year, out of 236 students in the city participating in this exam, 166 students won prizes in 12 subjects, a sharp increase compared to the previous school year (2023-2024 had 110 prizes) and ranked 2nd in the country, after Hanoi.

Among the 166 students who won prizes, there were 6 first prizes, including: Three English prizes went to students from Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted; One first prize in literature went to an 11th grade student from Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted; One first prize in chemistry went to a student from Mac Dinh Chi High School; One first prize in biology went to Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted.

Students participating in the national excellent student exam of Ho Chi Minh City come from Le Hong Phong, Tran Dai Nghia, Nguyen Thuong Hien, Gia Dinh, Mac Dinh Chi, Tran Phu, Tran Van Giau, Phu Nhuan, Tan Tuc, Nguyen Huu Huan, Ngo Quyen, Le Quy Don, Marie Curie, Trung Vuong, Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, Hoang Hoa Tham, Practice High School and Duc Tri Secondary and High School.

Among them, Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted and Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted are still the schools with the most award-winning students. Next are Nguyen Thuong Hien, Gia Dinh, Mac Dinh Chi, Nguyen Huu Huan High Schools...
