On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), many press agencies in the Latin American region published articles reporting on this important event, praising Vietnam's development achievements and cooperation potential.

According to VNA correspondents in South America, El Siglo weekly - the mouthpiece of the Communist Party of Chile - on September 3 reported in detail about the celebration, parade, and march taking place at Ba Dinh Square, with the participation of the Vietnam People's Army and People's Public Security forces.

For the first time in 40 years, weapons and vehicles designed and manufactured by Vietnam such as XCB-01 armored vehicles, self-propelled artillery, combat drones, S-125-VT air defense systems and “Truong Son” coastal defense missiles were introduced. The article also described the aerial performances of Mi-171, Mi-17, Mi-8 helicopters and Su-30MK2 fighters, along with a large-scale naval parade in Cam Ranh.

In addition, it is impossible not to mention the parade block, led by the National Emblem model inspired by the bronze drum - the symbol of the Vietnamese people, the Party flag block, the national flag block and the car carrying the portrait of President Ho Chi Minh , along with the mass blocks representing the people and social classes of Vietnam. The celebration ended with a vibrant art program, depicting the spirit of solidarity and national pride of Vietnam.

Meanwhile, Brazil's Brasil de Fato and Opera Mundi newspapers also published articles about the important event of the Vietnamese nation, while also highlighting the potential for development and cooperation between the two countries.

Under the headline “Vietnam celebrates 80 years of National Day: From revolutionary heritage to cooperation opportunities with Brazil,” Brasil de Fato newspaper mentioned the connection between Vietnam and Brazil according to some recorded documents. In 1912, President Ho Chi Minh, as a young man, spent time in Rio de Janeiro, lived in the Santa Teresa area and worked in a restaurant in Lapa.

It is the historical records of President Ho Chi Minh's presence in Rio de Janeiro in 1912 that are early evidence of proletarian internationalism and the connection between Vietnam and the Brazilian labor movement.

The article said that it was this spirit of solidarity that laid the foundation for the friendly relationship, officially established in 1989 and growing stronger.

On the same day, Opera Mundi also reported on the activities celebrating Vietnam's Independence Day in the jubilant atmosphere of the festival.

The newspaper focused on evaluating Vietnam's achievements in socio -economic innovation, emphasizing that GDP increased from 8 billion USD in 1986 to more than 476 billion USD in 2024, with per capita income reaching 4,700 USD.

The article assesses that Vietnam today is one of the fastest growing economies in the world , and plays an important role in Asia.

Referring to bilateral relations, Brazilian media emphasized that Vietnam is currently Brazil's largest trade partner in Latin America, with turnover reaching nearly 8 billion USD in 2024, gradually moving towards the target of 15 billion USD by 2030.

Bilateral cooperation is expanding in many fields from agriculture, renewable energy, mining, sports to digital technology; in which, Vietnam's import of Brazilian beef and Brazil's purchase of Vietnamese tilapia are considered concrete steps forward.

Reflections from Chilean and Brazilian media show that the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day is not only a great occasion for the nation, but also an event that attracts the attention of international friends.

Through that, the image of a resilient, innovative and integrated Vietnam is increasingly affirmed, while opening up many prospects for extensive cooperation with Latin American countries as well as the whole world.

Many Bulgarian press agencies (bta.bg, duma.bg, novinata.bg...) also simultaneously reported on activities celebrating the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day.

In just a few decades, Vietnam has increased the size of its economy nearly 100 times, entering the top 40 largest economies in the world and becoming an attractive destination for foreign investors.

Vietnam's development achievements are thanks to the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, with the foundation of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh thought, which has brought freedom, happiness and prosperity to the people.

Over the past few days, the welcoming atmosphere in Hanoi has been very vibrant with many activities and images of the red flag with yellow star shining brightly all over the streets. Vietnamese people from children to adults are all excited about this important event.

Tens of thousands of people gathered in the capital wearing red flags with yellow stars, “clearly demonstrating the national spirit” on the country’s important holiday.

Vietnam's most modern military equipment and weapons, from tanks, missiles, helicopters, fighter planes... participated in the parade.

The article quoted General Secretary To Lam emphasizing that Vietnam “resolutely and persistently protects the independence, freedom, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and every inch of sacred land of the Fatherland with the combined strength of the entire nation,” while highlighting “the strength of the great national unity bloc.”

Bulgarian media also paid attention to some of the State's social policies on this occasion, such as giving gifts to 100 million people with a total value of about 380 million USD; amnesty for nearly 14,000 prisoners, including 66 foreign prisoners.

In the solemn and sacred atmosphere of the 80th National Day Celebration of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Ms. Dao Thi Thu Hang - Member of the Board of Directors of the General Association of Vietnamese in the Kingdom of Belgium (UGVB), founder, operator and Head of the Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Club in Belgium - shared with VNA reporters in Brussels about her special feelings when she had the opportunity to return to Hanoi to attend this important event.

The moment of being part of the overseas Vietnamese parade at Ba Dinh Square became an unforgettable experience. She said: “Standing among thousands of hearts beating together, I clearly felt the national pride. The strong footsteps on the historic square not only meant honor but also the return of children far from home, bringing with them love and attachment to the Fatherland.”

During the series of activities on the occasion of National Day, Ms. Hang and the overseas Vietnamese delegation attended the Opening Ceremony of the Exhibition "80 years of journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness."

Here, each artifact and each photo helped her relive the flow of history, from the difficult early days of the August Revolution, two heroic resistance wars, to the outstanding achievements in the renovation process.

She emphasized: "I understand more deeply the meaning of independence, freedom, and happiness, values that were exchanged with the blood and tears of generations of ancestors."

In particular, the exhibition space on science, technology and innovation left a deep impression on her. From simple inventions during wartime to modern technological achievements in medicine, agriculture, art and heritage conservation, all reflect a Vietnam that is constantly striving.

Ms. Hang shared: “Seeing Made in Vietnam products reaching out to the world, I have more confidence in the youth, intelligence and creativity of Vietnamese people. This is also the motivation for me to continue learning, dedicating myself, and contributing to the development of the country.”

At the end of the conversation, she expressed her belief that with the spirit of solidarity and indomitable will, the Vietnamese people will continue to firmly step on the path of development, building a rich, civilized and happy country./.
