From CT16 rice grain to symbol of Vietnam - Cuba friendship

The documentary "Seeds of Happiness" produced by Vietnam Television, will be broadcast on the occasion of National Day September 2, telling the touching story of the journey of Vietnam's CT16 rice variety to Cuba, becoming a living symbol of the special friendship between the two peoples.

The film will air at 8:10 p.m. on September 2 on VTV1 and will be broadcast simultaneously on Cubavisión, a channel of the Cuban National Television. This is a special milestone in the history of television cooperation between the two countries, affirming the strong bond, loyalty and purity of the Vietnam - Cuba solidarity.

The film "Seeds of Happiness" was directed by Nguyen Duc De and the Vietnam Television crew in Ho Chi Minh City. Before filming, the production team spent more than two months preparing materials, two days flying to Cuba and 10 days filming in conditions of power shortage and water scarcity. The footage recreates the journey of Vietnam transferring special rice varieties, including CT16, to Cuba, contributing to helping the neighboring country overcome food security difficulties.

Throughout the 60 minutes, the audience will see CT16 rice seeds sprouting and growing green in the fields of Pinar del Río. The image of Vietnamese and Cuban people cultivating together not only recreates sincere sharing, but also affirms the belief and hope that remain steadfast even in the context of Cuba facing severe heat, electricity shortages, and lack of clean water.

According to director Nguyen Duc De, the film does not use commentary but lets images, sounds and emotions tell the story. Each grain of rice, each smile of a farmer is a simple but profound message that diplomacy is not only shown on the stage, but also exists in the companionship and sharing between ordinary people.

The broadcast of the film on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day has a special meaning, as an affirmation that the values ​​of Independence - Freedom - Happiness that the Vietnamese people have won since 1945 continue to be nurtured, spread and connected with international friends.
