Navy Commander Tran Thanh Nghiem spent a lot of time inspecting combat readiness training; inspecting live-fire islands and logistics and technical support; daily life, difficulties that need support of the island district's soldiers and people; presiding over flag-raising ceremonies on Truong Sa and Phan Vinh islands; offering flowers and incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs of Truong Sa; offering incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh and General Vo Nguyen Giap; Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan and offering prayers at pagodas on the archipelago.

Navy Commander, Vice Admiral Tran Thanh Nghiem and delegates of the working delegation visited and encouraged the soldiers and people of Song Tu Tay island.

Reporting to the Navy Commander and the working group, the island commanders briefly reported on the results of all aspects of work in the past time. Accordingly, the army and people of the island district always strictly followed the instructions, resolutions and orders from above, grasped and handled situations properly, did not let themselves be caught off guard; were vigilant, highly combat-ready, and determined to firmly protect the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland.

After listening to the report of the Chief of Staff, Political Department, Logistics Department, and Technical Department on the results of the inspection of four aspects of work on the islands, the Navy Commander warmly commended, congratulated, and highly appreciated the outstanding achievements that officers and soldiers on Truong Sa archipelago as well as the island district's military and people and affiliated forces have achieved in recent years.

The military and civilians of Truong Sa are always steadfast in spirit, have a sharp will, are well-trained, are ready to fight in all situations, strictly follow discipline, actively help fishermen go offshore, and make great efforts to build an environmental landscape.

Assigning tasks to the military and people of Truong Sa in the coming time, the Navy Commander noted that the task of protecting the fence and sovereignty of the Fatherland at the front line is a source of pride and honor, therefore every officer and soldier on the island as well as the affiliated forces must always be vigilant and ready to fight; focus on improving the quality of training, increasing practical, realistic training, mastering the plans; training soldiers to endure hardships in difficult and complicated conditions; training to change guns and numbers; strengthening coordination between forces...

Navy Commander Tran Thanh Nghiem also pointed out the limitations that the islands need to overcome in the coming time, and at the same time noted that the islands need to do a good job of technical assurance, preserve weapons and technical equipment, pay attention to safety assurance; actively increase production, take care of the lives, activities and health of soldiers; actively plant trees to green the islands; maintain good solidarity between the army and people on the islands; actively help fishermen go offshore, exploit seafood in accordance with the law.

The Commander assigned the Military Service agencies to study and propose recommendations and practical issues raised during the inspection process to the Military Service for guidance and assurance in the coming time.
