Vietnam Futsal team enters training, preparing for the 2026 Asian qualifiers

VHO - To prepare for the 2026 Asian Futsal Championship qualifying round, taking place next September, the Vietnam Futsal team has officially entered the first week of training in Ho Chi Minh City.

In this training session, head coach Diego Raul Giustozzi called up 20 players, a harmonious combination of experienced veterans and young faces full of potential.

The players entered the preparation process for the continental playground.

The coaching staff continues to put their faith in key players such as goalkeeper Pham Van Tu, Fixo Pham Duc Hoa, Nguyen Manh Dung, Ala Chau Doan Phat, Tu Minh Quang, Pivo Nguyen Minh Tri and Nguyen Thinh Phat.

Meanwhile, outstanding young players in the domestic tournament such as Tran Quang Nguyen, Trinh Cong Dai, Vu Ngoc Anh and Nguyen Da Hai also participated.

Head coach Diego Raul Giustozzi said: “The core of the team is experienced players, because we have two official tournaments ahead. This is a period that requires stability to ensure the tactics and playing style have been built.

Of course, I still give opportunities to young players in the training and friendly stages to prepare successors for the national team."

The Vietnam Futsal team will have 3 weeks to prepare before entering the 2026 Asian Futsal qualifiers.

In the absence of Ho Van Y, goalkeeper Van Tu (left) is the home team's number 1 hope.

During the training period in Kuwait from September 9 to 14, the team will have two international friendly matches with host Kuwait (September 11 and 13) to regain their competitive rhythm.

Coach Diego Raul Giustozzi affirmed that the team's goal is to focus fully on each match in the upcoming continental tournament.

The 2026 AFC Futsal Championship qualifiers have 31 participating teams, divided into 8 groups, including 7 groups of 4 teams and 1 group of 3 teams.

The teams will compete in a round-robin format at the host country's venue, with the eight group winners and seven best runners-up qualifying for the 2026 AFC Futsal Championship in Indonesia in January 2026.

According to the draw results, the Vietnam Futsal team is in group E with Lebanon, China and Hong Kong (China).

The team will meet Hong Kong on September 20, China on September 22 and Lebanon on September 24.
