During the 2 days of teacher recruitment exam, at 6 exam locations distributed by subject and level, 10,175 candidates will take turns taking the specialized professional exam in the form of practice.
Specifically, each candidate will present knowledge and illustrate professional skills, answer questions from the examination and evaluation panel members (if any) within 15 minutes.
The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City said that the specific requirements in this round are that the candidate must state the educational content and the requirements of the problem. Determine the required levels of each knowledge unit related to the content of the problem stated in the exam to develop teaching plans and design teaching activities. Form what qualities and abilities in students and state the techniques, methods, and teaching aids that will be used.
Coming from Khanh Hoa , candidate BTP, competing for the position of literature teacher at Nguyen Thi Huong Secondary School (Nha Be Commune), shared that after graduating from Thu Dau Mot University, she went to teach on contract at a school near her home. When she saw that Ho Chi Minh City was recruiting teachers, she registered. According to this candidate, before registering for the recruitment position, she went to the school to learn about the students and facilities, and found it suitable so she registered to take the exam.
Highly competitive subject; subject in high demand but few applicants
Regarding this year's teacher recruitment, Ms. Tran Thi Ngoc Chau, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that in this recruitment, high school chemistry is a subject with a high competition rate when 266 candidates registered but only 20 positions were recruited.
High school biology has 120 candidates registered for 19 positions; high school physics has 265 candidates but only 18 positions; high school math has 267 candidates registered for 68 positions.
On the contrary, there are positions such as music , art, and technology teachers with very few candidates registering compared to the demand. Of which, the primary music subject has only 46 candidates out of 180 positions. The secondary music subject has 65 candidates registering out of 223 positions. The primary art subject has a demand of 194 but only 30 candidates registering.
The junior high school fine arts subject needs 235 teachers but only 57 candidates apply. The high school technology (industrial engineering) subject needs 13 teachers but only 4 candidates apply. The high school technology (agricultural engineering) subject needs 7 teachers but only 2 candidates apply.

Teacher recruitment conditions
A member of the Teacher Recruitment Council said that the HCM City Department of Education and Training stipulates that candidates who pass the recruitment exam must meet the following conditions: Have a score of 50 points or higher in round 2; Have a score of round 2 plus priority points (if any) higher in order from highest to lowest in the recruitment quota of each job position.
In case 2 or more people have the same practical score plus priority score (if any) in the final quota of the job position to be recruited, the Director of the Department of Education and Training will decide the successful candidate.
In case of registering for 2 wishes but not being accepted in wish 1, the second wish will be considered if the job position registered in wish 2 still has recruitment quota after considering all wishes in wish 1 (including considering the wishes of people with lower admission results according to regulations).
In case a job position still has recruitment quotas after considering 2 wishes, based on the exam results, the Examination Council reports to the Director of the Department of Education and Training to decide to recruit the person whose recruitment results are immediately lower than the recruitment results of the successful candidate in the job position at another unit but with the same standards and conditions of the job position at the unit with recruitment quotas, same examination council, same round 2 exam format and same exam questions.
The results of the teacher recruitment are expected to be announced in early October.

According to the teacher recruitment plan for the 2025-2026 school year, for affiliated high schools, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training will recruit 671 teachers. Of which:
- Region 1 (old Ho Chi Minh City) 466 teachers.
- Region 2 (former Binh Duong province) 152 teachers.
- Region 3 (former Ba Ria-Vung Tau province) 56 teachers.
For public service units under the People's Committees of wards, communes and special zones, the Department of Education and Training has compiled recruitment needs based on the number of employees allocated to public schools and the recruitment needs are 5,726 teachers. Of which, preschool is 615 teachers, primary school 2,040, secondary school 3,071. Specifically:
- Region 1 needs to recruit 2,731 teachers.
- Region 2 (former Binh Duong province) recruits 1,672 teachers.
- Region 3 (former Ba Ria - Vung Tau province) recruits 629 teachers.
