The Provincial People's Committee met to listen to a report on preparations for the opening of the walking street.

On April 11, comrade Nguyen Long Bien, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a meeting to listen to a report on the results of preparations for the opening of the pedestrian street in Phan Rang - Thap Cham City. Attending were leaders of relevant departments, branches, localities and units.

According to the Project to pilot the walking street in Phan Rang - Thap Cham City, the walking street's operating space includes April 16th, Hoang Dieu and Tran Quang Dieu streets, divided into 7 areas with many different themes. Activities in the walking street take place from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. every Friday and Saturday; increased service on holidays, Tet, and important political events of the locality and the country. It is expected that the program to organize the opening ceremony of the walking street will take place at 6:30 p.m. on April 27, 2024; the location is at April 16th Square (Phan Rang - Thap Cham City). Activities will include many attractive programs such as: Performances of bands, dance groups, dance troupes, DJ music; Traditional folk art programs... at the intersection of 16/4 Street with Hoang Dieu Street and the section between Tran Quang Dieu Street to the lake, at the intersection of Nguyen Truc Street. Street art performances are performed on the sidewalk of 16/4 Street. Artistic paintings and photographs are displayed on the sidewalk of Hoang Dieu Street; books are displayed and introduced; sketches, portraits, calligraphy; folk games...

Concluding the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: The opening program of the walking street is an important cultural event, opening the peak summer beach tourism season of 2024 of the province; therefore, it needs to be carefully prepared, leaving a good impression on friends and tourists inside and outside the province. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to proactively coordinate with Phan Rang - Thap Cham City and relevant agencies and units to continue implementing tasks according to the set plan. Focus on coordinating with relevant units to ensure facilities and related conditions to serve the organization of events serving the opening ceremony of the walking street. Reception, logistics, urban planning, environmental sanitation, food safety, information and propaganda, security and order... need to be actively implemented.
