V.League 2025-2026: Song Lam Nghe An comes from behind to defeat defending champion Nam Dinh

Facing an opponent that was rated lower, Nam Dinh Blue Steel (TXND) did not have too much difficulty in possessing a slightly longer ball possession time than Song Lam Nghe An (SLNA). The defending champion only needed 10 minutes to score the opening goal.

In the 10th minute, receiving the ball from his teammate, Lam Ti Phong handled the ball skillfully and then shot on the 16m50 line surrounded by 5 SLNA players, opening the score for TXND.

After the goal to take the lead, TXND continued to maintain pressure. On the other side, SLNA with their defensive counter-attacking style also created some dangerous situations towards the away team's goal.

In the 41st minute, from SLNA's attack, goalkeeper Nguyen Manh went up high and Van Luong immediately saw it and shot from a distance, hitting the bottom edge of the crossbar and flying into TXND's goal, equalizing 1-1.

In the second half, in the 47th minute, Olaha shot from within 5m50 into Nam Dinh's net, but referee Tran Ngoc Anh disallowed the goal for the home team when he thought the ball had touched the SLNA captain's hand. Reviewing the slow-motion replay, it was shown that Olaha had not touched the ball in Nam Dinh's penalty area.

Olaha tried to explain but referee Ngoc Anh kept his decision. Unfortunately, there was no VAR in this match so SLNA had to accept the unfair loss of a valid goal.

In the following minutes, the match was a tug of war, both sides showed their determination to win all 3 points in round 2.

In the 82nd minute, a surprise happened. From a pass from his teammate, substitute player Reon Dale Moore volleyed the ball right on the 16m50 line, scoring the second goal against Nguyen Manh, putting SLNA up 2-1.

In the remaining minutes, TXND poured forward to attack in search of an equalizer but failed and had to leave Vinh Stadium empty-handed.

In the matches on the same day, Hong Linh Ha Tinh won 1-0 againstSHB Da Nang, Ninh Binh won 4-0 against Dong A Thanh Hoa, Hai Phong FC won 3-1 against PVF CAND, and Hanoi FC drew 0-0 against Hoang Anh Gia Lai.
