Applying Ho Chi Minh's thought

During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh always highly appreciated the important position and role of the youth - the next generation to the Party's cause, the future and destiny of the nation, and the future of the Fatherland. He emphasized: "Youth are the future masters of the country. Indeed, the prosperity or decline, weakness or strength of the country depends largely on the youth."

President Ho Chi Minh's views on youth have become the guiding ideology throughout the Party and State's guidelines and policies on youth moral education to nurture and promote the strength of youth in the cause of national construction and defense. The 7th Conference of the Party Central Committee (10th tenure) issued Resolution No. 25-NQ/TW on "Strengthening the Party's leadership over youth work in the period of accelerating industrialization and modernization". The Political Report at the 13th National Party Congress also emphasized the task of strengthening education on revolutionary ideals, ethics, cultural lifestyle, enhancing patriotism, national pride, nurturing ambitions and aspirations to rise up; promoting the sense of responsibility towards the country and society; Building an environment and conditions for learning, working, entertaining, and training to develop the young generation in a healthy, comprehensive, and harmonious way, both intellectually and physically, and in terms of aesthetic values.

From September 4 to September 8, 2024, Ha Long University organized the "Citizenship - Student Activities Week" for all first-year students. For young people, students, and those who are still studying and researching in schools, the Party directs: "Pay attention to nurturing students' strong aspirations to build a rich and strong country, linking their own career with the future of the community and the nation, cultivating students' mettle, qualities and lifestyles of the modern Vietnamese youth generation." This is reflected in the Party and State's attention to the legitimate needs and aspirations of young people. At the same time, develop specific policies and plans for union members and young people, create a favorable environment for studying, training, working, studying and working for young people, so that they can promote their capacity, creativity and youth in the cause of building and defending the country.

Currently, we have many integrated programs, forms and methods to educate revolutionary ideals, ethics and lifestyle for students in the context of digital transformation and global integration. Students of the schools have been studying and training according to Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW, dated May 18, 2021 of the Politburo on continuing to implement Directive No. 05-CT/TW dated May 15, 2016 of the 12th Politburo "On promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle. In addition, the Party and the State have issued many important directives related to the education of revolutionary ideals, ethics and lifestyle for students, such as: Decision No. 1501/QD-TTg dated August 28, 2015 of the Prime Minister approving the Project "Strengthening education of revolutionary ideals, ethics and lifestyle for youth, adolescents and children in the period 2015-2020", Directive No. 42-CT/TW dated March 24, 2015 of the Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership in the work educating revolutionary ideals, ethics, and cultural lifestyle for the young generation in the 2015-2030 period...

In addition, colleges and universities across the country have been implementing Citizen Activity Week to contribute to raising students' awareness of the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws and policies, thereby providing them with timely and complete basic and necessary information on the domestic and international economic, political and social situation.

55 years have passed since Uncle Ho passed away, but President Ho Chi Minh's thoughts and teachings on moral education for youth will forever illuminate and guide generations of Vietnamese youth to excellently complete all tasks, contributing to the victory in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
