Inspect and handle unlicensed dental facilities

Immediately after Thanh Hoa Newspaper published an article: "Illegal dental facilities openly operate - authorities are helpless?", on June 12, the Department of Health established an inspection team to review the content of the reflection on medical examination and treatment activities.

The inspection team was led by Chief Inspector of the Department of Health Le Hong Quang; Head of the Department of Private Medical Practice Management Bui Hong Thuy as Deputy Head of the team, along with members and leaders of Quang Hung and Dong Ve wards ( Thanh Hoa City).

The delegation conducted a surprise inspection of medical examination and treatment activities at Smile Dental Clinic located at 742 Le Lai Street, Quang Hung Ward, Thanh Hoa City...

...and Saigon Dental Clinic is located at A2.1, Tan An market, Tan Binh, Pham Van street, Dong Ve ward, Thanh Hoa city.

At the time of inspection, both facilities had staff to receive patients and examine and treat patients with specialized dental equipment.

Inspection of medical examination and treatment activities, including conditions for medical examination and treatment activities and medical examination and treatment practice by practitioners at the facilities, shows that all facilities do not have licenses to operate medical examination and treatment.

The delegation drew up a record of administrative violations against the facility for providing medical examination and treatment services without a license and during the period of suspension of medical examination and treatment activities; and sealed the chairs and practice equipment. At the same time, the facility owner was required not to provide medical examination and treatment services without a license to operate.

The People's Committees of Quang Hung and Dong Ve wards have directed the ward's Discipline Committee to dismantle the signs, temporarily confiscate and store the advertising signs of the two establishments at the ward People's Committee. According to information from the Department of Health, the Department's Inspectorate will issue a decision to administratively sanction these establishments according to the provisions of law.
