Watercress is rich in vitamins and minerals.

According to the Vietnamese Food Composition Table ( Ministry of Health ), 100g of watercress contains 22 kcal of energy, of which 2.1g of protein, 0.07g of lipid, 3.33g of carbohydrate, 2g of fiber and some important vitamins and minerals such as 235 mcg of vitamin A, 250 mcg of vitamin K, 25mg of vitamin C, 9mcg of folate, 211mg of potassium, 2g of fiber.

Watercress contains vitamin A which plays an important role in eye health, bone and tooth development, immune system support and antioxidant protection. Vitamin K helps activate factors in the blood clotting process and participates in protein synthesis, helping to strengthen bones.

Folate in watercress plays an important role in the process of blood formation and the nervous system such as preventing stroke, vascular disease, macular degeneration in the eyes, preventing Alzheimer's and preventing neural tube defects in children during pregnancy.
