On September 30 in Ho Chi Minh City, Marvell Technology Group (USA) officially opened three new offices in Vietnam, thereby making Vietnam Marvell's third largest research and development (R&D) center in the world with more than 500 engineers.

The new offices, located at Etown 6 and UOA Tower ( Ho Chi Minh City) and ICT1 (Da Nang), are expected to support Marvell's rapidly growing engineering team in Vietnam.

Among these, the Office at Etown 6 is the largest in scale and is equipped with a modern Lab, integrating advanced testing tools for testing semiconductor chips.

Mr. Sandeep Bharathi, President of Marvell Global Data Centers, said the new Lab demonstrates the Group's long-term commitment to chip research and testing, and reflects its belief in Vietnam's strategic role as a global semiconductor innovation hub.

Marvell expects to continue building a team of talented engineers in Vietnam who create technological breakthroughs in semiconductor chips, with the most complex and high-performance products, helping to shape the future of AI data infrastructure.

Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc said that this event not only marks the expansion of Marvell's development in Vietnam, but also demonstrates a long-term vision in the strategy of cooperation and technology development in the region. This is an important milestone in the process of cooperation in developing the semiconductor and high-tech industry in Ho Chi Minh City.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, Marvell's two offices in Ho Chi Minh City and one in Da Nang demonstrate the Group's long-term commitment, while affirming Vietnam's increasingly clear position in the global value chain in the semiconductor industry.

Ho Chi Minh City is committed to accompanying Marvell and investors by creating a favorable environment in terms of mechanisms, policies, infrastructure and human resources. The city is ready to support Marvell to promote R&D activities, technology transfer, as well as expand the scale of engineering training right in Vietnam.

Marvell is a leading company in semiconductor and microchip solutions for data infrastructure. In 2013, Marvell Vietnam was established with only 5 engineers and a modest office in Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone (Ho Chi Minh City).

Initially, the Marvell Vietnam engineering team mainly focused on design verification projects, then gradually participated in the entire IC (semiconductor circuit) design process.

In 2023, Marvell announced plans to increase its engineering team in Vietnam by 50% within three years. To date, Vietnam has become Marvell's third largest research and development (R&D) center globally with more than 500 engineers, behind only the United States and India.

According to General Director of Marvell Vietnam Le Quang Dam, Vietnam has affirmed its position as a strategic pillar in Marvell's global R&D network.

Marvell's Vietnamese engineers are involved in the most advanced and complex technology projects in the semiconductor industry and the rapid growth of the Marvell Vietnam team is the clearest proof of the quality and potential of Vietnamese engineers.

Some typical projects that the Vietnamese engineering team participated in include Marvell® Alaska® A 800G PAM4 DSP Active Electrical Cable (AEC), Alaska P PCIe Gen6 Retimer and Nova 1.6 Tbps PAM4 DSP, as well as many other key projects.

Vietnam plays a strategic role in Marvell's development vision, particularly in promoting human resource diversification and increasing the proportion of female engineers.

To realize this goal, Marvell will continue to cooperate with Vietnamese universities and the government through scholarship programs, internships, co-development of curricula and technical seminars to nurture the next generation of semiconductor engineers./.
