Vuong Quan Tri and Huynh Kim Tho entered the final round of the Golden Bell of Traditional Music.

In the third round of selection on the evening of August 17, the youngest contestant of Golden Bell of Traditional Music 2025, Vuong Quan Tri (born in 2009), was one of two contestants selected to enter the final ranking round.

However, the judges of Golden Bell reminded Quan Tri that he still had mistakes and needed to fix them so that he could be more confident in the next round.

In the 3rd round of selection night, there were 4 pairs of contestants performing excerpts from cải lương. Each excerpt was about 12 minutes long.

Vuong Quan Tri paired with contestant My Le to compete in an excerpt from Ben Nuoc Ngu Bo (poetic drama: Hoang Cong Khanh, reformed opera: Vo Tu Uyen).

Tri confided that he was a bit scared because he was younger than the hero Le Liem that he played in the excerpt. Makeup techniques can help Tri look older, but the ability to act maturely in a heroic role is something Tri needs to strive for.

After Tri and My Le's performance, judge Vo Minh Lam commented that Tri was a bit off in the first verse of vọng cổ, luckily he recovered in the second verse.

Lam praised Tri for having a clear voice but he needs to practice singing with depth and attention to pronunciation.

What the judges noticed in Tri was that he was very confident because he had performed a lot and participated in many competitions.

When on stage, confidence is very important for contestants to show their full potential. But according to judge Ho Ngoc Trinh, if Tri is too confident, he will get out of character.

At that time, watching the excerpt, people only saw actor Quan Tri, not the character Le Liem. Ngoc Doi added that when Tri was too confident, he would not be able to coordinate well with his co-star, so he needed to control himself.

Tri also needs to process the lyrics to make them sweet, adjust the breath column, and divide the text appropriately to be able to conquer the listener if going deep into the Golden Bell of Southern Folk Songs.

The reason the judges had to remind him so much was because Tri was a promising candidate in the competition. Tri needed to realize that he still had shortcomings to overcome, and seriously study to go further.

The girl who reprised Dieu Hien's role entered the finals

In the 3rd round of selection, the best contestant was Huynh Kim Tho. Tho reprised the very famous role of Trieu Thi Trinh played by artist Dieu Hien in the excerpt Nhuy Kieu Tuong Quan .

Artist Dieu Hien is good at martial arts, the role of Trieu Thi Trinh brings out all her strengths. Therefore, when choosing a character in this excerpt, the contestant must also have the inner strength to sing and act well.

Ho Ngoc Trinh praised Tho for choosing this excerpt correctly because it was a chance for her to show off her strengths. She has a strong, powerful voice, so she sang many songs in the excerpt very well.

She knows how to use strange singing techniques to keep the audience captivated. Not only that, Tho also knows how to flexibly "cheat" when there are places where the performance is too emotional and there is not enough breath to perform a vọng cổ verse, Thoa uses fake breath but still makes the audience accept it.

Judge Chi Tam commented that Tho had a good, clear voice. However, he advised her not to swallow words and to pronounce them more clearly to make them more audible and emotional. Because of her convincing performance, Kim Tho was chosen by the judges to continue to the final ranking.

Contestant Nguyen Ngoc Thuy Trang was put on the list of breakthrough contestants, waiting for a chance from the audience's votes.
