On the morning of July 6, speaking to reporters, Mr. Pham Duc Huan, Chairman of the People's Committee of Duong Quy commune, said that with the motto "4 on-site", the commune government is focusing on mobilizing people and functional forces to participate in supporting people in moving property, repairing houses, clearing mud and soil, and quickly overcoming the consequences of floods in the area.

According to a quick report from the People's Committee of Duong Quy commune, the prolonged rains from the beginning of July until now have caused a lot of damage to traffic infrastructure, houses and crops of local people.
Specifically, the whole commune had 2 houses (Khuân Đo and Tông Phái villages) severely damaged; one household was isolated due to a landslide leading to the house.
In particular, the flood caused a landslide on the negative slope of the Duong Quy Commune Party Committee headquarters, threatening to affect the office block and neighboring households.

Regarding infrastructure, floods have severely damaged two roads leading to Nam Mien and Nam Hoc villages, causing traffic disruption; on National Highway 279, the section passing through the commune has many landslides, causing local congestion and traffic insecurity.
Regarding production, floods have buried many rice fields, corn fields and crops, and there are currently no complete statistics.

According to the reporter's records, in Khuân Đo village, the wooden stilt house of Mrs. La Thị Pom's family had cracks in the foundation and walls; the hill above showed signs of serious landslides. In Tông Pháy village, the solidly built house of Mr. Dam Văn Liên had its gable wall collapsed by landslides. Although the landslide did not continue, it seriously affected the daily life of Mr. Liên's family.
In the highland village of Nam Mien, due to prolonged heavy rain, the road leading to the village was seriously eroded. Although traffic has been temporarily restored, travel for 76 households is still very difficult.

It is known that immediately after the flood, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control - Search and Rescue of Duong Quy commune urgently deployed a recovery plan; assigned commune leaders to be directly present at the scene to direct the recovery work and urgently move affected households to safety.

According to Mr. Pham Duc Huan, it is forecasted that in the next few days, there will continue to be heavy rain in the area. To ensure the safety of the people, the local authorities have deployed warning signs in places at risk of landslides; continue to check and evacuate people in dangerous areas. The commune has also requested the construction unit upgrading National Highway 279 to urgently organize landslide clearance and clearance of rocks and soil at landslide sites to ensure traffic safety; request Van Ban Electricity to check the current status of the power system, especially the areas where electric poles are affected by landslides to ensure the safety of the power grid.
