The Nam Ly Bridge project has a total length of 750m, of which the bridge is 450m long, 20m wide, and the approach road is 30 - 37m wide. The total investment is 919 billion VND, including construction costs of 423 billion VND, compensation for site clearance of 403 billion VND for 51 households and 3 affected organizations...

After 3 years of construction and reaching about 40% of the contract value, the project was temporarily suspended in early 2019 due to land issues. It was not until March 25, 2023, after 4 years of "shelving", that the project officially restarted.

According to the Management Board of Traffic Construction Investment Projects of Ho Chi Minh City (investor), after nearly 1.5 years of restarting, the overall progress of the project has reached about 90%.

The project is expected to open to traffic in mid-September. After that, contractors will close the existing side road to construct a residential access road and other auxiliary works.

Currently, the consortium of contractors is mobilizing 60 workers and more than 10 specialized machines to complete the items, aiming to ensure the goal of completing the entire project by the end of this year.

When completed, Nam Ly Bridge will replace the narrow and degraded Rach Chiec dam bridge, remove the "bottleneck" on Do Xuan Hop Street, and contribute to completing the traffic network in the East of Ho Chi Minh City.

According to the latest update from the investor, the Nam Ly bridge project's cost has been reduced from 919 billion to more than 731 billion VND.

The total investment in the project decreased because previously, at the new project establishment stage, units only estimated the compensation price and the land origin was all residential land.

However, when the compensation work was officially carried out and the inventory was carried out to determine the exact origin of the land, the proportion of agricultural land increased. Therefore, the compensation cost decreased, so the total investment decreased as above.
