Building a civilized urban area in Quan Chu: The result of consensus

Quan Chu Town (Dai Tu) has just held a ceremony to announce the decision to recognize the locality as meeting civilized urban standards. 100% of the criteria (9/9) and 52/52 contents have met the standards, affirming the strong transformation of the locality. This is the result of the strong leadership of the Party Committee, the government and the consensus of the people in joining hands to create a sustainable urban development.

Pursuant to Decision No. 04/2022/QD-TTg dated February 18, 2022 on promulgating regulations on criteria, order and procedures for considering recognition of civilized urban standards; The Party Committee and the government of Quan Chu town have developed a plan and launched a special emulation campaign "Building Quan Chu town to meet civilized urban standards".

The town mobilized the entire political system and people to contribute resources to build a civilized urban area. At the same time, it established a Steering Committee for building a civilized urban area and assigned specific tasks to each officer in charge of the criteria, including: Planning; traffic; environment and food safety; security and order; information and communication; employment, average income, poor households; culture - sports; health, education; political system and government responsibilities.

The Standing Committee of the Town Party Committee and the Steering Committee for Civilized Urban Development regularly monitor, urge and guide the implementation. Thereby, promptly encouraging individuals and groups that do well and correcting and urging implementation according to the set plan.

Among the many solutions that have been implemented, the town pays special attention to propaganda and mobilization work, gradually changing people's awareness and responsibility in building a civilized urban lifestyle, complying with regulations on urban order, construction order, creating clean and beautiful landscapes...

Mr. Le Van Binh, Head of Residential Group 9, Quan Chu Town, said: Every first Saturday of the month, all the town's cadres, party members and people in the residential group join forces to clean the environment and beautify the city such as: planting trees, flower streets, cleaning, dredging canals, collecting garbage in public places and households. People in the group understand that contributing a little effort will bring long-term benefits, helping the city to be spacious and clean, so they wholeheartedly support. Everyone tells each other to arrange time to participate fully, everyone works with an urgent, happy and responsible spirit.

Urban planning is also one of the criteria that Quan Chu town prioritizes to implement. In order to complete the 7 targets of this criterion, the locality has invested in building a new town cultural - sports center; upgrading, renovating, and building new cultural houses of residential groups, schools, medical stations, etc. to ensure standards. Up to now, the scale and appearance of the urban area have become larger and more beautiful, meeting the requirements of aesthetics and environmental friendliness.

Notably, after 3 years of implementing the movement of donating land and assets on land to widen roads in residential groups from 6 to 7 meters or more, there has been a clear change in the awareness and thinking of people and officials about building civilized urban areas.

People have become more aware of their role as the main subject, thereby proactively participating in implementation. As a result, the town has cleared nearly 36.6/27.7km of roads, equal to 132.2% of the plan for the 2023-2025 period.

The total number of affected households that agreed to donate land was nearly 1,500 households, with a total donated land area of ​​over 91.60m2, along with many constructions on the land that were demolished and moved to make way for roads such as: Fences, gate posts, corrugated iron roofs, concrete floors... The estimated total value of constructions and assets on the donated land is over 21.4 billion VND.

In addition, the town has built more than 42km of electric lines to light up rural roads in residential groups: Tan Vinh, Thong Nhat, Den, Chiem, Vang..., reaching 82% of the total length of roads (over 51.5km).

During the implementation process, many good, creative and "skillful mass mobilization" methods in building civilization have been supported by the people such as: "Golden land is also donated" model, "Self-management group for security and order in residential areas" model, "Building a cultural lifestyle in the family" model... These models have made important contributions to consolidating the political system, developing the socio -economy, and ensuring local defense and security.
