Specifically, these fake documents announced that the Tay Ninh Provincial Department of Health would inspect food safety at food service establishments, functional food establishments and drug retail locations. This caused confusion among businesses.

According to the Department of Health of Tay Ninh province, the department has recently directed and strictly prohibited its employees from making any form of phone calls to business establishments. Therefore, the Department of Health affirms that the phone calls claiming to be from the Department of Health and some documents signed by the director and deputy director are all fake.

At the same time, forging signatures for the purpose of illegal profiteering and causing confusion is a violation of the law and must be thoroughly handled.

Tay Ninh Provincial Department of Health requests that business organizations and individuals who receive phone calls and are presented with documents with forged leadership signatures as mentioned above should contact the phone number 0909.089.097 (of Inspector of Tay Ninh Provincial Department of Health Le Minh Canh).

Or people can contact the nearest local police, district People's Committee and medical center for instructions to avoid being scammed.

Recently, many leaders and former leaders of the Department of Health of other provinces and cities have also had their signatures forged by criminals. On September 30, a leader of the Khanh Hoa Department of Health shared that the impersonator had called a number of food establishments to notify them of inspections, asking them to provide their Zalo accounts and send them inspection decisions.

At the same time, the impersonator made a number of requests for the facility to follow. According to the fake documents, the person who signed the decision was Mr. Bui Xuan Minh, the deputy director of Khanh Hoa Department of Health, and the decision was signed on September 28, 2024. However, in reality, Mr. Minh is the director of Khanh Hoa Department of Health and has retired since July 1, 2024.

Similarly, many Western provinces such as Long An and Ben Tre also saw many documents with forged signatures with the content "Department of Health is going to inspect". In Ho Chi Minh City, Gia Lai, Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai... there is also the same situation with the same form of fraud as in Khanh Hoa.

Counterfeit everywhere

On the evening of September 30, Mr. Le Quang Trung - Director of Dong Nai Department of Health - said that recently the unit received a number of complaints from people about documents with forged signatures of department leaders.

Specifically, the documents forged the signatures of the director and deputy directors of Dong Nai Department of Health with the content announcing the establishment of an inspection team to monitor pharmacies and food production and trading establishments.

According to Mr. Trung, the documents with forged signatures of leaders of the Dong Nai Department of Health announcing food safety inspections at food service establishments and drug retail establishments are completely invalid.

Mr. Trung affirmed that Dong Nai Department of Health did not make any calls or request any tests over the phone.

In addition, the Board of Directors of the Dong Nai Department of Health has also directed the entire industry to strictly prohibit all forms of phone calls to food establishments and pharmacies in the area. Therefore, phone calls claiming to be from the Dong Nai Department of Health are all fake.

Mr. Trung warned pharmacies and food businesses to be extremely vigilant and check information from the inspection team.

When there are unusual signs or receiving fake information, facilities can call the hotline of the Department of Health or local health agencies to verify and receive handling instructions.

Doctor Huynh Minh Chin - Deputy Director of Binh Duong Province Department of Health - said that recently, there have been many documents with forged signatures of the director and deputy directors of Binh Duong Province Department of Health.

The content of the fake document is to notify food safety inspection at food service establishments and drug retail establishments in the province.

Leaders of the Binh Duong Provincial Department of Health recommend that when encountering cases of phone calls and presenting documents suspected of being fake, people should contact the hotline of the Binh Duong Department of Health, medical centers of districts and cities to verify and avoid being scammed.

'The Binh Duong Provincial Department of Health has directed the entire sector to strictly prohibit phone calls to food and beverage establishments and drug retail establishments in the entire province. Therefore, phone calls claiming to be from the Binh Duong Provincial Department of Health are all fake,' said Mr. Chin.
