At this time, the Parents' Association of class 7/1 organized a party for the students on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival. Accordingly, each student was given a cup of milk tea purchased from Co Ba Sai Gon Tea and Sweet Soup Shop (address 19 Phung Hung Street, Pleiku City). 46 students were given milk tea.
At around 9:30 a.m., some children showed signs of stomachache, nausea, and dizziness. The Board of Directors notified the Ward Health Station to come and check, verify, and provide support.
Initial verification results showed that 34 out of 46 students drank the milk tea. Of these, 21 students suffered from stomachaches, dizziness, and vomiting. Many students were taken to the emergency room and medical stations for examination by their families.
Immediately afterwards, Pleiku City Medical Center came to check and take food samples; regularly monitor the health status of the students.
By 2:10 p.m. the same day, according to reports from the Board of Directors of Ton Duc Thang School and the Ward Health Station, the health of the students was basically stable. Currently, one student is being treated at Hoang Anh Gia Lai Hospital for stomachache and mild fever.
