According to AFP , Mr. Gladkov said that three "suicide UAVs" attacked the village of Rozhdestvenska in Belgorod, near the border with Ukraine, in an area that has been regularly subjected to artillery, missile and UAV attacks during the more than two-year conflict between the two countries.

On the Telegram channel, the above official stated: "The consequences of the explosions left two people dead and a third seriously injured."

According to this person, an ambulance was dispatched to the scene to treat the victims.

In a series of previous statements, the Russian Defense Ministry emphasized that the country's air defense forces shot down a number of Ukrainian UAVs over the Belgorod region throughout March 8.

In another development, on the same day, March 8, TASS news agency reported that a judge in Moscow fined the social network Telegram 4 million rubles for refusing to delete inaccurate data about Russian military losses in the special military operation (SVO) in Ukraine.

The decision on the fine was made in December 2023, but the reason for it remains unclear. The court's decision reads: "Telegram Messenger Inc. is found guilty of an administrative offense under Article 19.7.10-4 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation and an administrative fine of 4 million rubles is imposed."

As stated in the decision, the Russian Communications Control Service Roskomnadzor identified in publications on the Telegram channel information about Russian servicemen allegedly killed on the territory of Ukraine in the SVO. This is confirmed by screenshots taken on September 8, 2023 and September 11, 2023.

Telegram representatives did not appear at the hearing on the case, although they were notified of the location and time via seven different official email addresses.

On September 1, 2023, changes to the Russian Code of Administrative Offenses came into force, which will make social networks liable for non-compliance with the law's requirements on autonomy. Since then, Roskomnadzor has identified a number of violations of the law's requirements.

This is not the first time Telegram has been fined for refusing to remove banned content. In November, Moscow's Tagansky Court fined the social media messenger 4 million rubles for a similar offense.
