This morning, June 16, at Tan Tao University, 53 12th grade students from 6 provinces and cities including Ho Chi Minh City, Long An, Tien Giang , Ben Tre, Dong Thap, Tay Ninh won first, second, and third prizes in the national and provincial excellent student competitions and were honored at the Hoa Trang Nguyen award.
Professor Vo Tong Xuan (gray vest) and Mr. Dang Quang Hanh, Vice Chairman of the School Board (blue vest), presented awards to students.
In addition to the certificate from the award council, the 53 new Hoa Trang Nguyen also received cash prizes. Specifically, the national excellent students received a prize of 5 million VND/student, the provincial/municipal excellent students and the best students in grade 12 received a prize of 3 million VND/student.
Prof. Dr. Vo Tong Xuan, co-chairman of the 13th Hoa Trang Nguyen Award Council and the first principal of Tan Tao University, said that this year's award received more than 300 applications after 3 weeks of launching from 6 provinces and cities. "The applications were evaluated carefully, seriously and fairly to find the most outstanding candidates for the award," said Prof. Vo Tong Xuan.
Parents came to celebrate with students receiving the Hoa Trang Nguyen award.
According to the Organizing Committee of the award, in previous years, there were also 12th grade students who won gold, silver, and bronze medals in international Olympic competitions receiving awards of 10,000,000 VND each. However, this year there were no applications in this group.
It is known that Hoa Trang Nguyen is an award founded by the Chairman of Tan Tao Group in 2008, to encourage and promote the academic talents of students nationwide. Over many years of organization, the award has honored more than 10,000 Hoa Trang Nguyen in the North, Central and South with a total prize value of more than 30 billion VND.
