73 people in Dong Nai were poisoned after eating bread

On the evening of May 1, answering VTC News, Mr. Phan Van Huyen - Director of Long Khanh General Hospital said that the unit had received and treated 73 people who were poisoned after eating bread.

"Currently, the hospital has allowed 7 patients to go home, while 66 people are still being treated and are waiting for their health to stabilize before being discharged," Mr. Huyen informed.

The Director of Long Khanh General Hospital also said that the Long Khanh City Health Department had come to take samples to determine and clarify the cause of the incident.

Previously, the patients were hospitalized with fever, stomachache, vomiting, and diarrhea. The patients said that they all ate meat sandwiches at the B. sandwich establishment (Xuan Binh ward, Long Khanh city, Dong Nai) between the afternoon and evening of April 30.

After experiencing symptoms of fever, diarrhea, and stomachache, some people bought medicine to take themselves but still did not get better.

At Long Khanh General Hospital, patients were diagnosed with intestinal infections.

Previously, in Dong Nai province, there was also a food poisoning incident that caused 17 people to be hospitalized. Specifically, on January 13, 2024, the Bien Hoa City Health Department received information that 13 people had to be hospitalized for emergency treatment at Hoan My ITO Dong Nai Hospital, suspected of food poisoning. On the morning of January 16, the Health Department continued to receive information from 4 other people also suspected of food poisoning.

All 17 patients had dined at Flamme Buffalo (Truong Dinh Street, Ward 2, Tan Mai Ward, Bien Hoa City). After eating dishes such as grilled oysters and abalone, the patients experienced symptoms such as severe abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, and high fever.
