Following the introduction of the Chairman of the Association of War Veterans in Song Lo Commune, Viet Tri City, we visited the economic development model of war veteran Bui Van Cat in Zone 4 - one of the typical examples of war veteran in the emulation movement to do good business in the locality.

In 2012, veteran Bui Van Cat boldly borrowed capital and invested over 1 billion VND to renovate vacant land and develop a farm model. The fruit trees he chose were red bananas and Thai bananas, because according to him, these are two banana varieties that have the ability to grow and develop well, suitable for local natural conditions, especially high productivity, stable commercial value, trusted by traders in and outside the province to order and directly come to buy.

In 2015, promoting the effectiveness of the model, veteran Bui Van Cat continued to expand the garden area to grow Dien grapefruit. Thanks to his diligence in learning and accumulating experience from effective grapefruit growing models, his family's Dien grapefruit garden produced quality fruit. Up to now, veteran Bui Van Cat's family has nearly 2 hectares of banana growing area and nearly 600 Dien grapefruit trees, over 1.2 hectares of fish ponds. In addition, he also developed a fishing lake service model that attracts many visitors to experience. From this farm model, veteran Bui Van Cat's family has an income of 400 - 500 million VND/year. As an enthusiastic and responsible person, he also regularly helps and shares experiences with members and people to develop the economy and get rich legitimately on his homeland.

Identifying participation in new rural construction as one of the important tasks, the War Veterans Association at all levels in the province regularly propagates and mobilizes members to actively participate in movements and activities launched by the Association and the locality, including many typical units such as: War Veterans Association of Cao Xa commune (Lam Thao district), War Veterans Association of Dan Quyen commune (Tam Nong district), War Veterans Association of Son Hung commune (Thanh Son district)...
