Phia Oac – Phia Den National Park Management Board discovered a rare bird species in the Phia Oac – Phia Den National Park area.

Conducting surveys and conserving biodiversity. On August 21, 2025, the camera traps of Phia Oac - Phia Den National Park recorded images of many individuals of the White Pheasant (Lophura nucthemera) appearing in the natural forest. The White Pheasant is a rare bird listed in the Vietnam Red Book and belongs to group IIB according to Circular No. 27/2025/TT-BNNMT.

           The discovery of the White Pheasant (Lophura nucthemera) in the National Park is of great significance, demonstrating the value of biodiversity, as well as the effectiveness of patrolling, forest protection, and wildlife monitoring that Phia Oac - Phia Den National Park has implemented.

Immediately after the discovery, the Phia Oac - Phia Den National Park Management Board directed specialized departments to record and compile records, and at the same time strengthen management, enhance surveillance by camera traps, and promote propaganda so that people can join hands to protect the forest and protect the area where the species lives. In addition, the National Park will coordinate and propose with research agencies to monitor, evaluate and propose appropriate conservation measures.

The discovery of this rare species contributes to raising awareness of nature protection, and affirms the important role of Phia Oac - Phia Den National Park in biodiversity conservation in Cao Bang province and the whole country.
