Protecting 600,000 billion VND/year in revenue for businesses thanks to proactive trade defense

The effective use of trade defense tools has helped domestic enterprises protect nearly 600,000 billion VND in revenue each year, maintain more than 56,000 jobs and contribute about 1,600 billion VND to the budget. This is noteworthy information given by the Department of Trade Defense ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ).

Of the 79 enterprises participating in the trade defense lawsuit, 56 are private enterprises, accounting for 92.8% of the total output of goods in the cases. This shows that the private sector is both the subject of direct impact and the pioneer in using defense tools to protect legitimate interests.

According to the Trade Defense Department, trade defense tools are only truly effective when businesses proactively prepare and coordinate actions.

The representative of the Import-Export Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade also noted the need to accurately determine the origin of goods to take advantage of tax incentives and avoid the risk of being investigated. New regulations from Decree 86/2025/ND-CP and Circular 26-30/2025/TT-BCT will help make the C/O issuance process transparent and increase electronic applications, creating convenience for businesses.

Many businesses assert that trade defense is not only a “shield”, but also a lever for businesses to become self-reliant. With nearly 600,000 billion VND in revenue protected each year, this tool is creating space for businesses to restructure and improve their competitiveness.

At the same time, expanding the market and proactively upgrading new development strategies are the keys for Vietnamese enterprises, especially the private sector, to both maintain their domestic position and accelerate integration, gradually affirming their position in the global value chain.
