Subject Luong Van Duoc and components to assemble hunting guns.
Typically, on May 15, 2023, Quan Son District Police and Son Dien Commune Police (Quan Son) caught Luong Van Thang (born in 1997) in Tan Son village, Son Dien commune, transporting a parcel containing details to assemble a hunting gun.
Continuing to investigate the case, Quan Son District Police arrested Luong Van Duoc (born in 1994), Thang's brother, and seized another parcel containing many details to assemble a hunting gun.
At the police station, the subjects initially confessed that the above components were ordered by Luong Van Duoc on social networks with the purpose of assembling bird-shooting guns and asked his younger brother, Luong Van Thang, to receive them for him.
Lieutenant Colonel Le Dinh Minh, Deputy Chief of Quan Son District Police, said: With the characteristics of a mountainous district, currently in Quan Son district, there are still a number of people who have the habit of using weapons, especially hunting guns and homemade guns to go into the forest to hunt wild animals. This poses many complicated problems regarding security and order. There have been cases of hunting and then shooting by mistake, or stray bullets causing very painful consequences.
Implementing the Ordinance on Management and Use of Weapons, Explosives and Support Tools, in recent years, Quan Son District Police have actively advised, coordinated propaganda, and mobilized people to voluntarily hand over and collect weapons, explosives, and support tools. From the beginning of 2023 to now, the District Police have propagated and mobilized people to hand over and collect 25 homemade guns, 5 support tools, and rudimentary weapons. At the same time, they have strongly fought against all types of crimes, subjects who buy, sell, store, use, produce, and assemble homemade guns... For subjects who do not voluntarily hand over, or intentionally buy, sell, store, or use, the Police will strictly handle them according to the provisions of law.
