On September 5, Cho Ray Hospital held a ceremony to announce the successful implementation of electronic medical records (EMR).
Mr. Pham Thanh Viet - Deputy Director in charge of management and operations of Cho Ray Hospital - said that currently the hospital's electronic medical records have basically met all regulations and effectively served daily medical examination and treatment activities.
In the immediate future, the hospital will cooperate with the software development unit to continue to build new functions, utilities, and features, helping the usage process become simpler and more effective, minimizing errors and allowing more time to care for patients.
In the long term, the hospital will expand the application of information technology to many other areas besides medical examination and treatment, including: administration, management, hospital management and logistics with the goal of moving towards a paperless hospital model.
According to this orientation, all hospital activities will be operated on a software platform, meeting the requirements of Project 06 and becoming one of the model hospitals in digital transformation of healthcare .
Dr. Nguyen Van Quan - Deputy Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Training ( Ministry of Health ) - said that Cho Ray Hospital is responsible for medical services for the Southern, Southeast, Central Highlands regions and Cambodia.
When the hospital implements electronic medical records, lower level units can follow suit. This is a breakthrough in the health sector.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hang - Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance - highly appreciated the hospital's efforts in implementing electronic medical records because in just a short time, the hospital has completed the electronic medical records and run them smoothly, quickly and accurately, helping both the hospital and the social insurance agency.
Mr. Nguyen Tri Thuc - Deputy Minister of Health - assessed that the hospital was slow in implementing electronic medical records, behind, but had the advantage of learning from other units, avoiding problems and concluding complete electronic medical records, putting them into operation on schedule.
