Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen (25 years old) is from Vinh Long, 1.88 m tall. With the ability to jump well and hit the ball powerfully, Bich Tuyen is the number 1 striker of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team and LPBank Ninh Binh Club. She is an important factor helping the Vietnamese team defeat Thailand, winning the championship for the first time in the second round of the Southeast Asian Volleyball Tournament (SEA V.League) 2025.

On her personal page last night, Bich Tuyen said these heartfelt words: "This is a decision that I have carefully considered. Not because I lack the desire to compete, but because of the new requirements from the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) on the competition conditions of athletes. Sports are not only about competition but also about respect and fairness. I feel that these regulations are not transparent and lack the necessary fairness for athletes. I believe that every athlete deserves to compete in a respectful and equal environment. To protect my integrity and avoid unnecessary risks for the team, I have decided to withdraw. I will spend this time focusing on training, preparing for future tournaments. I believe that with the best preparation, the Vietnamese team will still compete to the best of their ability and achieve new successes. I hope everyone will continue to support my teammates in the upcoming tournament."

READY TO OVERCOME DIFFICULTIES

Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet said that Bich Tuyen is the main force, so her withdrawal will certainly affect both the spirit and expertise of the team. However, Coach Tuan Kiet affirmed: "Up to now, I have built the team with a collective playing style with many different plans based on all the faces in the team. Therefore, the team also has a plan when Bich Tuyen is not available. The coaching staff encourages the players to maintain their spirit and unite to carry out the plans and goals set out."

Because Bich Tuyen withdrew close to the departure date, the Vietnamese team could not add a replacement player in time. Therefore, the team will participate in the world championship with 13 players, including key players such as Tran Thi Thanh Thuy (captain), Tran Thi Bich Thuy, Nguyen Thi Trinh, Doan Thi Lam Oanh, Nguyen Khanh Dang, Nguyen Thi Uyen. Notably, the team only has one real opposite player, Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh. Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet tried not using Bich Tuyen in the first game of the friendly match against the Spanish team a few days ago. Last night, in the friendly match against Kenya, the Vietnamese team played very well and won with a score of 4-0. The coaching staff continues to make adjustments to complete the squad.

Having the honor of qualifying for the world championship for the first time, the Vietnamese team faced very strong opponents right from the group stage: Poland (ranked 3rd in the world), Germany (ranked 11th), and Kenya (ranked 23rd).
