BIDV and VIMC strengthen cooperation, promote development of maritime activities

On September 12, in Hanoi, the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) and Vietnam National Shipping Lines (VIMC) signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement for the 2025-2030 period, marking an important step in the strategic relationship between two leading enterprises in the fields of banking, finance and shipping.

Within the framework of cooperation, BIDV will promote the provision of comprehensive financial solutions, modern banking services and allocate resources to accompany VIMC in investment and business development plans. This is a strategic step, opening up new growth space, enhancing competitive position and aiming for sustainable development for both units.

BIDV General Director Le Ngoc Lam and VIMC General Director Le Anh Son represented the two units to sign the agreement.

Speaking at the ceremony, BIDV Chairman Phan Duc Tu affirmed: BIDV will continue to accompany VIMC and its member units through providing a full package of modern banking products and services, comprehensively meeting capital needs, integrated services and optimal financial solutions. In the coming period, BIDV commits to devoting the best resources, and at the same time playing the role of a focal point in arranging capital for key projects and effective business plans of VIMC.

VIMC Chairman Nguyen Canh Tinh also said: The comprehensive cooperation agreement will help the two units promote their strengths, effectively exploit potentials, bring practical benefits and enhance competitiveness. VIMC commits to closely accompany BIDV, together towards the goal of developing a prosperous and sustainable country.

Representatives of BIDV Cau Giay and VIMC Lines signed the agreement in principle.

To realize the cooperation agreement, within the framework of the program, two member units of BIDV and VIMC, Cau Giay Branch and VIMC Container Transport Joint Stock Company (VIMC Lines), signed a principle agreement on financing ship investment projects, creating a premise for specific and effective cooperation projects in the coming time.

BIDV is the oldest commercial bank and has the largest total assets in Vietnam with nearly 3 million billion VND as of June 30, 2025; VIMC is a key enterprise in the maritime industry operating in three core areas: seaports, maritime transport and maritime services. The implementation of the comprehensive cooperation agreement between BIDV and VIMC is an important milestone, affirming the position of the two leading enterprises in the country and opening up prospects for strong and sustainable growth in financial and maritime activities, etc., thereby actively contributing to the socio-economic development of the country.
