If in the past few days, durian prices have been showing a slight upward trend because currently the quantity of durians ready to be harvested in the Western region is very small, then today durian prices have reversed with Thai durian due to the prolonged rains in the past few days, even very heavy rains in some places.

Thai durian price decreased by 2,000 - 3,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Hopefully, durian price will increase again in the near future.

This year, due to the impact of the intense heat, durian trees suffered heat shock, causing many young fruits to fall off, and productivity to decrease sharply. Therefore, durian prices can fluctuate depending on the day.

Previously, the price of durian today, May 31, was the highest in the Southwest region and the lowest in the Southeast and Central Highlands. The price at the garden will be 3,000 - 5,000 VND/kg lower than the updated price at the warehouse, depending on the form of purchase by the trader, buying in bulk or choosing the price.

In the Southwest region, durian prices today continued to fluctuate slightly compared to yesterday. The beautiful Ri6 durian variety reached 67,000 - 69,000 VND and the Ri6 durian variety reached 50,000 - 52,000 VND/kg; the beautiful Thai durian was at 100,000 - 102,000 VND/kg; the Thai durian variety was at 82,000 - 84,000 VND/kg, continuing to decrease slightly compared to the previous session.

For durian in the Southeast region, the price increased slightly compared to yesterday. Specifically, the purchase price at the warehouse, beautiful Ri6 is 67,000 - 68,000 and Ri6 durian has a purchase price of 50,000 - 52,000 VND/kg; beautiful Thai durian is at 100,000 - 102,000 VND/kg; meanwhile, Thai durian is at 82,000 - 84,000 VND/kg.

Meanwhile, in the Central Highlands, the price of beautiful Ri6 durian is at 63,000 - 65,000 VND/kg and Ri6 durian in bucket is at the price that traders buy at 50,000 - 52,000 VND/kg; beautiful Thai durian is at 98,000 - 100,000 VND/kg; Thai durian in bucket is at 80,000 - 82,000 VND/kg.

Durian prices fluctuate slightly, Thai durian tends to decrease

According to a market survey, durian is being sold a lot in Ho Chi Minh City, but the price varies from place to place, making consumers wonder how much this product, known as the “king” of fruits, actually costs.

In many other markets in Ho Chi Minh City, durians are priced at around 80,000 - 100,000 VND/kg. A durian trader in District 10 said: This is grade 1 durian, large fruit. Good durians, each fruit must weigh around 2-3 kg. Fruits that are too small or too big are not good.

In many supermarkets, durians are also displayed in eye-catching locations. At Emart supermarket, Ri6 durian with shell is priced at 69,900 VND/kg; the peeled and boxed type is priced at 320,000 VND/kg.

At Thu Duc agricultural wholesale market, Ri6 durian is priced at 85,000 VND/kg, while at Hoc Mon wholesale market, seedless durian from the Western provinces is priced at 50,000 VND/kg. Thai durian alone is priced at 90,000 VND/kg.

Explaining the situation of durians having different prices in different places, the Vietnam Gardening Association said that the current export price of durian is around 80,000 - 115,000 VND/kg depending on the variety, type 1 or type 2... In the domestic market, the price of durian cannot be unified because there are many different types. Many places sell durian at low prices, while the best types are mostly for export.
