In Thuan An ward, officers and soldiers of the Thuan An port border post fired storm warning flares, calling on ships still at sea to quickly come ashore. By 9 a.m. on September 27, 510 vessels had anchored, and more than 3,600 workers and fishermen had safely come ashore.
According to Chairman of Thuan An Ward People's Committee Le Dinh Phong, the Ward Civil Defense Command is present at key locations: Vinh Tri, Hai Tien, Minh Hai, An Hai, Tan Lap residential groups... to propagate and mobilize people to evacuate to safe places, ensuring before 2:00 p.m. on September 28. Currently, 711 households with 2,471 people have been taken to schools, cultural houses, and solid houses to take shelter from the storm.
Across Hue city, there are currently more than 1,100 fishing vessels with more than 8,000 workers in safe shelters. Localities have developed plans to evacuate more than 10,000 households with more than 32,000 people, mainly in coastal and lagoon areas. The City Border Guard Command mobilized officers and soldiers to coordinate with local authorities and people to reinforce and brace houses before storm No. 10 makes landfall.
On the land border, border guards also support people to urgently harvest the summer-autumn rice crop according to the motto "green house is better than ripe field".
To proactively respond, the Hue City Border Guard Command maintains 380 officers and soldiers along with 28 vehicles ready to handle situations; directs units to regularly monitor storm developments, inspect vulnerable areas at risk of landslides and flooding, to ensure people's safety before, during and after the storm.
