Chinese Foreign Ministry talks about the results of the visit of General Secretary and President Xi Jinping

Accordingly, from April 14 to 15, General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping paid a State visit to Vietnam. This is the fourth visit to Vietnam by General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping in the past 10 years and the first stop on his first foreign trip this year.

During the visit, General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping held talks and meetings with General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and received delegates attending the China-Vietnam People's Friendship Meeting.

The two General Secretaries jointly witnessed the display of 45 signed bilateral cooperation documents and attended the launching ceremony of the China-Vietnam Railway Cooperation Mechanism . The two sides issued a Joint Statement on further deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and promoting the building of a Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future of Strategic Significance.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian stressed that the visit was a great success, opening up new prospects for building a China-Vietnam Community of Shared Future of strategic significance, developing the socialist cause of the two countries, and injecting positive energy into the prosperity and stability of the region and the world.

Mr. Lam Kiem said that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam and is the China-Vietnam People's Exchange Year, which is of great significance to the relationship between the two countries.

During the visit, Chinese General Secretary and President Xi Jinping proposed six important measures to deepen the building of a China-Vietnam Community of Shared Future of Strategic Significance, pointing out the need to enhance strategic trust at a higher level, build a more solid security fence, expand higher-quality mutually beneficial cooperation, consolidate broader social cohesion, engage in closer multilateral cooperation and have healthier maritime interactions.

Mr. Lam Kiem emphasized that the two sides agreed to persistently promote the cause of China-Vietnam friendship, support each other in pursuing the socialist path suitable to the country's conditions, raise strategic trust to a new height, build a more substantial pillar of security cooperation, take advantage of the opportunity to develop China's new quality productive forces and develop Vietnam's new productive forces to build a more in-depth comprehensive cooperation model, consolidate the social foundation of the China-Vietnam Community of Shared Future with strategic significance, coordinate multilateral strategies more closely, properly handle and resolve disagreements, and maintain the overall picture of China-Vietnam friendship.

The Chinese side affirmed that it will work with Vietnam to seriously implement the important common perceptions reached by the high-ranking leaders of the two Parties and two countries, inherit the traditional friendship of "the close Vietnam-China relationship, both comrades and brothers", promote high-quality comprehensive strategic cooperation according to the common goal of "6 more", jointly protect international justice and fairness, ensure the building of a China-Vietnam Community of Shared Future with strategic significance for stable and long-term development, and make new and greater contributions to building a community of shared future for mankind.
