Minister Nguyen Kim Son becomes Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Education and Training

Mr. Nguyen Kim Son, member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Education and Training, was appointed by the Standing Committee of the Government Party Committee as Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Education and Training for the 2025-2030 term.

This afternoon, August 21, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Education and Training held the official session of the 1st Congress of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Education and Training, term 2025 - 2030. The Congress announced the decision of the Standing Committee of the Government Party Committee on appointing the Executive Committee of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Education and Training, term 1, term 2025 - 2030.

Accordingly, Mr. Nguyen Kim Son, member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Education and Training, was appointed as Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Education and Training for the 2025-2030 term.

Mr. Pham Ngoc Thuong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, Permanent Deputy Minister of Education and Training and Mr. Nguyen Viet Loc, Full-time Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, were appointed as Deputy Secretaries of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Education and Training for the 2025-2030 term.

The Party Committee of the Ministry of Education and Training also determined the direction, goals, and tasks of focusing on leadership, direction, and organization to well implement Party building work and the sector's political tasks for the 2025-2030 term.

In particular, focusing on implementing many key and breakthrough tasks such as strongly innovating institutions, creating unique and outstanding mechanisms and policies for education and training development; strengthening moral and personality education , forming a system of values ​​for Vietnamese people in the new era.

Comprehensive digital transformation, popularization and strong application of digital technology and artificial intelligence in education and training; focus on building a team of teachers and standard school facilities, improving the quality of preschool and general education.

Reform and modernize vocational education, create breakthroughs in developing highly skilled human resources; modernize and improve university education, create breakthroughs in developing highly qualified and talented human resources, lead research and innovation; promote international cooperation and integration in developing teaching staff, research, and training high-quality human resources.

Comprehensive assessment of curriculum and textbook innovation is needed.

Speaking at the congress, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long requested the Party Committee of the Ministry of Education and Training to focus on completing, submitting for promulgation and organizing the synchronous and effective implementation of the Politburo's Resolution on breakthroughs in education and training development and the National Target Program on Education and Training Development.

Continue to review, amend and promptly supplement institutions, mechanisms and policies on education and training innovation, improve the effectiveness and efficiency of state management of education; in which priority is given to completing 3 draft laws on amendments.

The Deputy Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Education and Training to comprehensively review and evaluate the implementation of innovation in general education programs and textbooks in order to adjust and perfect the general education program in accordance with the set goals and requirements, especially after the implementation of the arrangement of administrative units and the organization of two-level local governments.

Along with that, promoting autonomy is associated with improving the quality of university training in a practical and in-depth direction, associated with accountability, publicity and transparency.

Continue to review and plan the network of educational facilities; effectively implement the policy of tuition exemption and support for preschool children and high school students. Focus on building boarding schools for primary and secondary levels in 248 land border communes.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long requested the Party Committee of the Ministry of Education and Training to develop, review, amend and supplement appropriate policies and remuneration regimes for teachers, to overcome the surplus and shortage of teachers in educational institutions.
