On December 23, the Naval Region 5 Command coordinated with the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department and the Ca Mau Provincial Women's Union to visit and work with the Tam Giang Dong Commune Party Committee, Nam Can District.
At the meeting, Colonel Hoang Quoc Hoan, Deputy Political Commissar of the Naval Region 5 Command, expressed his pleasure to visit the locality and introduced to the delegates some key features of the journey of building, fighting, winning, growing and developing the Naval Region 5 Command; and the results of the unit's performance in managing and protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland by officers and soldiers.

In 2024, in addition to successfully completing key political tasks and assigned tasks, the Naval Region 5 Command also did a good job of propagating and disseminating legal knowledge to fishermen; effectively implementing the program "Vietnam Navy as a support for fishermen to go offshore and stick to the sea", the activity "Navy sponsors fishermen's children". Thereby, it has created a reliable and solid foundation to help people go offshore to exploit seafood safely, sustainably and legally.

In order to support fishermen in depth and achieve practical results, Colonel Hoang Quoc Hoan hopes that the Party Committee and the government of Tam Giang Dong commune will continue to closely coordinate with agencies, units and the Naval Region 5 Command to effectively carry out propaganda and education work to improve legal knowledge for fishermen; at the same time, actively deploy support activities with specific, meaningful and practical actions so that people can feel secure in going out to sea and sticking to the sea.
