Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung emphasized: “With determination and strong will, along with careful training and preparation, U23 Vietnam has won the 2025 Southeast Asian Championship. This victory has created a widespread effect of solidarity in society, and at the same time brought confidence to youth football in the country.”

The Minister also affirmed that this is just the starting point for the next journey and asked the whole team to continue to maintain their competitive spirit, improve the quality of professional work, and aim for two big goals at the end of the year: the 2026 U23 Asian Qualifiers and the 33rd SEA Games. I hope that with our youth, dedication and the support of our fans, we will have more strength to complete our mission before the Fatherland, the people and Vietnamese sports."
On behalf of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan thanked the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for their deep concern for Vietnamese football in general and the U23 team in particular. President Tran Quoc Tuan shared that the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship is a great source of encouragement for young Vietnamese players. Especially in the context of Southeast Asian countries increasing the naturalization of players, Vietnamese football remains steadfast in its orientation of building a team with its own identity and reaping the rewards of investment in youth football.

For his part, Head Coach Kim Sang Sik expressed his honor to receive recognition from the State leaders and the sports industry. Mr. Kim Sang Sik thanked the VFF for their trust and said that he will continue to work with the coaching staff to improve professional quality to best prepare for upcoming tournaments.
Immediately after the ceremony, the U23 Vietnam team officially ended the training session, and the players returned to their home clubs. Coach Kim Sang Sik will have a short break before returning to professional work, continuing to watch matches in the V.League and the First Division 2025-2026 to select personnel for the team in the next training sessions.
The Vietnam U23 team is expected to gather again at the end of August to prepare for the 2026 U23 Asian Qualifiers.
