A series of classic songs about the land of love returns through the voices of singers My Linh, Thuy Dung, Truong Linh..., and also features the melodious and gentle violin sounds of artist Bui Cong Duy.
The Love Country Concert features People's Artist Bui Cong Duy, monochord artist Nguyen Tat Nghia; singers My Linh, Thuy Dung, Trang Bui, Truong Linh; Vietnam Symphony Orchestra, People's Public Security Music and Dance Theater, and Song Hong Choir.
Taking place on the evening of December 26 at Ho Guom Theater ( Hanoi ), the Love Country concert was directed by the Department of Party and Political Affairs, Ministry of Public Security , organized by Ho Guom Theater in coordination with the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra, to celebrate the success of the 80th National Public Security Conference.
Land of noble love, boundless happiness
The concert opened with a grand choir, opening with stories of love and happiness of the country through a series of works by Van Cao, Nguyen Duc Toan, Trong Bang, Tran Manh Hung, Phu Quang...
That is the choir "Praise to President Ho" performed by the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra. Next is "Grateful to Ms. Vo Thi Sau" performed by Trang Bui and the choir; "People's Police March " performed by the People's Police Song and Dance Theater; "Threading the Needle" performed by the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra.
There were people sitting below humming along when they heard singer Truong Linh sing two classic songs about Hanoi: Hanoi on the Day of Return and Hanoi Street .
The artist's chamber music style, with its highs and lows, dark and bright, took the audience through many different emotions as they remembered the old capital.
Especially in the song Hanoi Street , Bui Cong Duy's violin sounds like a "sound track" that resonates, recalling a whole epic song when thinking about beloved Hanoi.
Bui Cong Duy also brought Ladies in Lavender by British composer Nigel Hess. This is the original soundtrack for Charles Dance's 2004 film of the same name.
The full symphony orchestra and Bui Cong Duy's solo violin evoked the romantic period with melodious, gentle music , sometimes sad, sometimes passionate.
At the National Instrumental Concert , artist Tat Nghia had a rather impressive solo mid-range on the traditional instrument.
The journey of Country of Love continues with the songs The Party gave us spring (Pham Tuyen), Hanoians (Nguyen Dinh Thi), Those soldiers (Hoang Van)...
Singer Thuy Dung returns
Excited to hear My Linh and Thuy Dung sing
My Linh appeared with two songs: Hanoi in a Windy Night (music by Trong Dai, poetry by Chu Lai) and Hanoi in Autumn (Vu Thanh).
"Oh Hanoi, the green color of school uniforms/The familiar roads are still there/The cries of the street vendors echo somewhere, shaking the night sky/Oh Red River, whose sails are gently sailing back/The tamarind branches whisper and bow their heads to the past/The cicadas chirp throughout the summer night/The folk song reminds me of Hoan Kiem Lake…".

It's been a long time since I heard My Linh sing these two songs live. The song is dedicated to Hanoians and those who love Hanoi, even though they are far away, they still remember Hanoi, listening to it makes them feel so sad and nostalgic.
Having been absent from the stage for many years, Thuy Dung's voice is no longer as brilliant as before, but has become more contemplative and full of stories.
This time, she sang Blue Sky of Hanoi by musician Nguyen Van Ky and Silent Feet - a composition by the late musician Vu Thao, used throughout the Criminal Police films from 1999 to 2009.

Until now, 7X, 8X audiences still remember the lyrics "There are quiet feet, in the middle of life like flowing water. Black and white flickering, unable to see the bottom. From within the storm, still hear the call...".
Through the arrangement of young musician Cao Dinh Thang for the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra and the return of Thuy Dung, the song has a new color compared to the hit more than 20 years ago.
The concert " Country of Love" ended with the lively melodies of the song "From a Street Crossroads " (Pham Tuyen) performed by the People's Public Security Song and Dance Theater and the choir "The Road We Travel " (music by Huy Du, poetry by Xuan Sach) recalling the difficult but heroic and noble days of the country.
