At Hon Chuoi Border Guard Station, Lieutenant Colonel Doan Cong Nghiep, Station Chief, reported to the working delegation: Hon Chuoi Island is located about 17 nautical miles southwest of the mainland, from the mouth of the Doc River (Song Doc Commune, Ca Mau Province). On the island, there is currently a "Charity Class" with 10 students from grades 1 to 5, taught directly by Major Tran Binh Phuc (Hon Chuoi Border Guard Station). The sparse population on the island mainly lives by raising fish in cages and catching seafood. Due to natural conditions without fresh water sources, the lives of the forces and people on the island face many difficulties, especially in the dry season.

Major General Hoang Huu Chien, Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of the Border Guard and the working delegation visited, worked and presented gifts to the forces on duty on the island.

Speaking at the meeting, Major General Hoang Huu Chien, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Border Guard, acknowledged and highly appreciated the spirit of efforts to overcome difficulties of the officers and soldiers of Hon Chuoi Border Guard Station. He hoped that the officers, soldiers and forces on duty on the island would continue to unite, bond, promote the achievements they have made; be determined to fulfill their assigned political tasks, maintain stability and peace in the sea and islands they are assigned to manage.

Major General Hoang Huu Chien requested the unit to continue to synchronously deploy border management and protection measures; strengthen patrolling, controlling, firmly protecting the sovereignty and security of the province's sea and island borders; maintain political security, ensure national defense and security; proactively grasp the situation, especially at sea; actively carry out search and rescue work; effectively combat all types of crimes, oil smuggling, trade fraud at sea and prevent illegal fishing (IUU).

Also within the framework of the working trip, Major General Hoang Huu Chien and the delegation visited, gave gifts and encouraged students of the "Charity Class", households in difficult circumstances and forces on duty on Hon Chuoi Island.
