- The musical film "Letter to the Future" was broadcast on National Day, September 2nd, on VTV, but you only held a press conference to officially announce the project now. There must be a special reason?

This is a very important film for me, marking the transition from folk music to chamber music. The film has been released for 2 weeks, I listened to public opinion, when I read the first responses, including compliments from music critics, I was really happy. I consider it a motivation to continue on the chosen path. This is also my official greeting to the audience and the media since winning the Sao Mai 2022 Champion, folk music.

- After winning the Sao Mai award, many of his peers quickly launched products, but Le Minh Ngoc chose the slow path. What is the reason?

I want to improve my knowledge and techniques. I hope to become the most meticulous and perfect Le Minh Ngoc possible. Only when I feel confident enough will I release a product. I think it is not "losing interest" but a clear direction. For nearly 3 years, I have been releasing music products for my colleagues. If I did not have direction and determination, I would be very sad.

Coming back and having my music product broadcast on VTV's prime time, being the main actor, I feel lucky and honored. I learn from previous generations of artists and try to bring folk elements into the auditorium to make a difference.

- Winning the Sao Mai 2022 folk music championship but choosing to develop your career in chamber music, while many people commented that you have all 3 elements of voice-beauty-dance to become a commercial singer, do you think you are taking a risk?

I don’t think much about myself. I want to maintain the chamber music genre so that the next generation will have people to sing it, and an audience to listen to it. Each main song is associated with a historical milestone of the country, and singing it makes me feel proud. The income may not be high, and the audience may be small, but I feel that is who I am.

My mother often calls me "the little old lady" (laughs). But I think if my generation doesn't sing, who will continue? I believe there are other young people who have the same concerns as me. In the future, I can incorporate new elements like rap to make the music more approachable, but chamber music is still the core.

I think the audience will still support me no matter what genre I sing, as long as I sing well. If I am invited to act in a movie, I will gladly accept, considering it an opportunity to challenge myself.

- Or do you not need money or have a strong backer to help with finances?

My grandfather worked in Military Region 4, my father was a police officer in Ha Tinh province, my brother was a border guard, three generations have been attached to the armed forces. I follow the arts but still in the military environment, currently working at the Army Music and Dance Theater with the rank of Lieutenant.

Since the age of 6, I have been disciplined, which has shaped Minh Ngoc into a neat and principled girl. However, my childhood was not dry, because my grandfather had a lot of affection for his only granddaughter. The memory of exercising with him in the fields every morning has nurtured my artistic soul.

Therefore, my family has always supported me. Since I started singing at the age of 3, every time I performed, my whole family came to see me. Now that I have reached milestones in my career, I feel like I have brought a little pride to my family.

- Do you have any upcoming music projects you want to introduce?

I am preparing to launch a series of songs about Hanoi , including familiar songs that have been around for years but performed in a new way - more romantic, closer, easier to listen to but still maintaining depth. I know there will be pressure when singing songs that are already famous, but I am afraid that the value will disappear without a successor generation. I and the young people want to continue and preserve those values.

At the press conference to launch the musical film Letter to the Future, People's Artist Quang Tho emotionally shared: "I watch many foreign musical films and when I watch Minh Ngoc's performance, I feel very courageous. A long musical film with historical elements in which Minh Ngoc plays two roles is an effort. I wish Minh Ngoc more success and quick success not only as a singer but also as an actress."

Meanwhile, singer Tung Duong praised Minh Ngoc for her natural and convincing acting, even more impressive than his - when he played the role of a chubby soldier in Continuing the Peace Story .

"Minh Ngoc still maintains her clarity and emotion, but is increasingly smoother and more refined. In light music songs, Minh Ngoc knows how to control her techniques, handle them separately and touch the hearts of the audience. I hope Minh Ngoc will go further. I still remind her that if she wants to succeed on the artistic path, she must nurture her passion, be determined and persevere to the end."
