Although it was only raining lightly this morning, his house was surrounded by water on all four sides, we had to roll up our pants as high as possible to get in. The house was shabby and damp because no one had prepared it. Mrs. Tran Thi Vuong, Mr. Dien's wife, was cleaning up and said, "We are waiting for you to come help...". His three young grandchildren heard the call and hurriedly grabbed a plastic bag containing clothes and personal belongings. While they were busy preparing, they urged, "Hurry up, grandma, the storm is coming!"

In the dark room, Mr. Dien was lying on the bed, his face tired. Comrade Hoang Anh Tuan, Commander of the Dan Hai Commune Military Command, said: “Mr. Dien was born in 1961, Mrs. Vuong was born in 1963. They have a son and a daughter. Unfortunately, the son had an accident and is currently bedridden. The daughter went to work far away, leaving her three children for her grandparents to take care of. Recently, the father of the three children also had an accident and is in the hospital. All activities depend on Mrs. Vuong.”

Comrade Tuan added: "Mr. Dien's family is in a particularly difficult situation, so whenever there is a natural disaster or need for help, the militia and local organizations are always present in time."

According to the evacuation plan of the People's Committee of Dan Hai commune, the entire commune must evacuate 1,254 households with 3,244 people to safe shelters. Up to now, the authorities have supported people to move and arranged temporary accommodation at gathering points such as schools and medical centers...

At the shelter at Dan Truong Kindergarten, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ti, residing in Hoi Thuy village, shared: "We have been here since morning. The temporary accommodation is stable, with clean beds, clean water, electricity and food are all fully prepared. Everyone can rest assured to avoid the storm."

The commune military force mobilized 50 regular militiamen, coordinated with other organizations, focused on supporting people to reinforce their houses, transport people and property to safety, prioritizing households in especially difficult circumstances.

Mr. Pham Xuan Luong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dan Hai Commune, said: "We have deployed a response plan according to the province's scenario. The whole commune had to evacuate more than 1,000 households with more than 3,000 people. Up to now, the households have basically been taken to shelters such as kindergartens, primary schools... Logistics teams are also ready to stand by, fully preparing beds, food, drinking water and essential necessities."

Mr. Pham Xuan Luong added: "Initially, mobilizing people encountered many difficulties due to subjective psychology. However, after the experience from the recent storm No. 5, people have coordinated better. Families with conditions proactively went to relatives' houses or rented motels and hotels for shelter."

On the same day, the Military Command of Phuc Trach commune mobilized militia forces to coordinate with the Working Group of Ban Rao Tre and Border Guard Station of Ban Giang to mobilize and organize the evacuation of 9 households (28 people) of the Chut ethnic group in Ban Rao Tre to a safe gathering location; at the same time, mobilized 15 households in Tan Dua village to evacuate from the dangerous area.
