DT717 extended road, also known as Ta Pua road, is a route connecting the area from National Highway 55 in Dong Kho commune through Nghi Duc commune, connecting with DT766 route from Duc Linh and Nam Thanh communes to Da Huoai 3 commune (old Ba Gia commune) through National Highway 20 to the provincial administrative center.

Ta Pua road has many sharp turns and potholes.

Ta Pua Road is important in inter-regional and inter-commune freight transport. Especially since the province's merger, the route has become a vital artery when the travel needs of people and officials, workers and employees in the area from Tra Tan, Hoai Duc, Duc Linh, Nam Thanh, Dong Kho, Nghi Duc communes to the provincial administrative center have increased.

However, the road has now seriously degraded. Many sections have numerous potholes, making it difficult for passenger vans, freight trucks, and motorbikes to travel. At Ba Sa Pass, at the bends near the top of the pass, many potholes have formed, making it difficult for cars going in opposite directions to give way...

Mr. K' Son in Ta Pua area said: The bad road makes many people worry about avoiding and not looking at other people on the road, so they collide with each other every day. The road has many sharp turns, slopes and passes that are difficult to travel, plus the road is damaged, so people really hope the province will pay attention to investing in repairs and upgrades to help people have a more convenient route.

Recently, on the afternoon of August 5, a landslide occurred at Ta Pua Pass at km 24 of DT717 road, passing through Me Pu 7 village, Nam Thanh commune. The authorities have cleaned it up, but the risk of traffic accidents is very high because the road is bad...

The road surface is peeling off.

According to Lam Dong Traffic Project Management Board, the project to Upgrade and Repair Ta Pua Road was approved by the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 1278/QD-UBND dated June 26, 2025, with a road length of 9.5 km, roadbed width of 9 m, road surface width of 8 m, and sidewalk width of 0.5 m on each side. The road surface structure is asphalt concrete, earthen curb, 1 new reinforced concrete bridge, drainage system and traffic safety system. The total investment is about 244 billion VND, the investment capital is from the central budget and the provincial budget, the implementation period is until 2028.

Although the project has been approved, the funding source has not yet been allocated, so other procedures have not been implemented... People really hope that the Provincial People's Committee will pay attention to directing and soon arranging funding sources so that the road can be upgraded soon...
