Quang Ninh seaport maintains growth momentum

By the end of the third quarter of 2025, the cargo output through the Quang Ninh seaport system will continue to maintain a stable growth momentum, making an important contribution to the province's economic development goals, while affirming its role as a driving force, leading other economic sectors to make breakthroughs.

According to the synthesis from the Quang Ninh Maritime Port Authority, it is expected that by the end of the third quarter of 2025, the volume of goods passing through ports in the province will increase by nearly 10% compared to the same period in 2024. The whole province is expected to welcome about 120,000 ships of all kinds, with cargo volume reaching more than 120 million tons. In particular, the number of passengers arriving in the province through seaports will reach more than 100,000 people, an increase of over 10% compared to the same period in 2024.

The main items are still imported goods, strategic items such as coal, petroleum, machinery and agricultural products to serve market demand, ensure energy security, food security... For container goods, although the output is low, they are still regularly present at CICT Cai Lan Port and some small ports.

As for sea passenger transport, thanks to the attention to promoting and implementing many innovative policies, creating favorable conditions for attracting cruise ship passengers to Vietnam, such as: Promoting administrative reform at seaports; reducing port fees for ships entering Vietnam; opening a number of new destinations for foreign tourists to visit ... Therefore, in the first 9 months of 2025, the province is expected to welcome more than 100,000 passengers through seaports.

To achieve this result, accompanying the province in implementing the 14% growth target by 2025, the agencies and units in charge of state management of maritime and seaports in Quang Ninh have proactively forecasted the situation, developed plans, continued to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the administrative apparatus, and promoted administrative procedure reform in the direction of simplification. At the same time, promoting digital transformation, enhancing the application of information technology in management, operation and professional implementation activities. In particular, effectively implementing software such as: Ship procedures, electronic receipts, ship tracking, arranging anchorage locations, monitoring the activities of pilots and tugboats; making administrative procedures transparent through publicly posting, clearly, fully and accurately the procedures and instructions for handling procedures.

At the same time, constantly mobilize and closely coordinate with port owners to effectively implement the work of attracting goods to the province; strengthen brand promotion activities, optimize port operations, optimize wharfs, support port operations from anchorage areas; standardize and apply many technological solutions and software to increase productivity and service quality, improve cargo handling capacity. At the same time, prioritize resources, promote the completion of traffic infrastructure connecting industrial parks and economic zones with the seaport infrastructure system, contributing to creating favorable conditions for the circulation and transportation of goods; promote the development of the processing and manufacturing industry and accompany investors, create favorable conditions for the early operation of factories and workshops to create a periodic, stable and sustainable source of goods...

Along with that is strengthening guidance and resolving difficulties in the process of implementing procedures; maintaining public service ethics, implementing the "4 requests" and "4 always" behavioral culture according to the direction of the Ministry of Construction , ensuring effectiveness and substance. Thereby, shortcomings and limitations are soon detected, recommendations for adjustment are made, contributing to perfecting the system of administrative procedures in the maritime sector in the direction of openness and transparency, creating maximum convenience for organizations and individuals to access and comply with regulations.

Entering the last 3 months of the year, the time when trading activities and freight transport demand increase sharply, especially when many new factories come into operation, industrial parks increase production, along with the excitement of strategic commodities such as coal, petroleum, machinery and equipment, agricultural products to serve the market and ensure energy security, food security, management agencies and port operators are urgently implementing synchronous solutions to improve service capacity. Along with that is investing in logistics infrastructure, promoting and introducing the potential and competitive advantages of a synchronous, modern and interconnected seaport infrastructure system.

With a steady growth momentum, Quang Ninh seaport activities in 2025 are expected to continue to achieve many outstanding results. This is not only an important contribution to the province's overall growth target, but also a driving force to promote other economic sectors, improve production and consumption capacity and affirm its role as a strong economic sector of the locality.
