At around 10pm on September 29, when floodwaters on the Thao River, passing through the Yen Bai Station area, suddenly rose, causing residential areas in Au Lau Ward and Yen Bai Ward to be isolated. More than 20 members of the Thac Ba Lake Water Club were present in time to help the people. With many years of experience working in the water environment, the volunteer team mobilized 8 canoes and specialized motorboats, quickly approaching deeply flooded residential areas, such as: Bach Lam Bridge area, Thanh Nien Street and some other routes.
Mr. Dang Ngoc Hoan - representative of the Club shared: As soon as we received information about the serious flooding situation, we determined that we had to deploy relief immediately. With specialized equipment available, the team quickly approached the deeply flooded areas to move people and property out of the danger zone quickly and safely.

Throughout the night of September 29 to the morning of September 30, despite bad weather and lurking dangers, rescue forces continuously moved through floodwaters to bring the elderly, children and isolated families to safe shelters.

The dedication and timely and responsible actions of more than 20 members of the Thac Ba Lake Water Sports Club have contributed to protecting people's lives and property. This is a beautiful action, aiming to share and support the community, demonstrating the pioneering and proactive role of social organizations in preventing and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters in the province.
