Asian striker creates historic milestone

Japanese women's team striker Hinata Miyazawa became the owner of the "Golden Boot" of the 2023 Women's World Cup with 5 goals. This striker scored a double against Zambia and Spain in the group stage, then scored 1 goal against Norway in the round of 16.

Spanish women's midfielder Aitana Bonmati received the 2023 Women's World Cup Golden Ball award for the best player. The Barca star was the conductor who led the Spanish women's team to the championship and contributed 3 goals and 2 assists.

The Silver Ball award for the 2023 Women's World Cup went to Aitana Bonmati's teammate, striker Jennifer Hermoso. Center-back Amanda Ilestedt received the Bronze Ball award after finishing third with the Swedish women's team.

Hinata Miyazawa is the first player to win the individual award, despite her team only reaching the quarter-finals. In previous Women’s World Cups, the Golden Boot winners have all reached the final or played in the third-place match with their teams.

Goalkeeper Mary Earps received the “Golden Glove” award for the best goalkeeper at the 2023 World Cup. Although the England women’s team lost 0-1 to the Spain women’s team, Mary Earps left her mark in the final when she successfully saved Jennifer Hermoso’s penalty.

Spain’s Salma Paralluelo was named FIFA’s “Best Young Player” for the year. The 19-year-old striker scored two crucial goals to help the Spanish women’s team eliminate the Netherlands in the quarter-finals and Sweden in the semi-finals.
