Art program serving tourism to promote Tuong art and Bai Choi opera

(GLO)- On the evening of July 25, in Quy Nhon Nam ward, Gia Lai Traditional Arts Theater held a meeting to report on the art program serving tourism to promote Tuong art and Bai Choi opera in 2025.

Attending the program were leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; members of the Provincial Arts Council in the field of performing arts and a collective of staff, artists and actors of the Gia Lai Provincial Traditional Arts Theater.

At the program, artists and actors of the Provincial Traditional Arts Theater performed 4 singing and dancing pieces: "Spring Night Singing"; "The Call of the Great Forest"; excerpt from the play "Tiet Cuong Chong Hammer" (excerpt from the play "Ho Sanh Dan" by the late master of Tuong Dao Tan); excerpt from the Bai Choi opera "Nu Tuong Bui Thi Xuan" (excerpt from the play "Shining Mountains and Rivers").

In particular, the singing and dancing performance “Hat boi dem xuan” introduces the art of Tuong (hat boi) - a traditional art form, typical of the homeland of Binh Dinh (old), through the harmonious and unique combination of images of masks, costumes, and props, highlighting the conventional, symbolic, and stylized nature of Tuong. The singing and dancing performance “Tieng cau dai ngan” introduces gongs, cymbals, epic stories, and a cultural space imbued with the Central Highlands...

Speaking at the program, Mr. Nguyen Trong Quynh - Director of the Provincial Traditional Arts Theater informed: The Theater has staged a number of art performances to supplement and enrich the unit's existing art programs serving tourism , thereby contributing to promoting the unique and distinctive values ​​of the Tuong and Bai Choi art heritage, meeting the diverse enjoyment needs of the people in the province and visitors from near and far in the coming time.

The art program is organized to seek guidance and comments to perfect the performances before performing them to serve the people and tourists.
